Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    In almost all literature;

    Jesus is referred to as he.

    Hitler is referred to as he.

    Cleopatra is referred to as she.

    Gengis Khan is referred to as he.

    Joan of Arc is referred to as she.

    There is absolutely no one alive today who would have been alive when the aforementioned people were walking the earth, save the second one, and even those people are dwindling.

    Why is it assumed that Cleopatra was a she or Jesus was a he? We were never explicitly told.

    I’d even ask the same of currently living people. Unless, for example, George Bush has explicitly declared his pronouns, should his Wikipedia article and all literature referring to him, refer to him as “they”?
