Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Come on let’s go Wolf’s 5-1.

If they still had Traore, I’d be much more optimistic that I am tonight.

    1-1 now.

    Lord almighty

Kante always comes back fit to play against Liverpool. There's been 3 or 4 games in the past that he has made a recovery to play after being a doubt or not played in a while. And often lasts the 90 mins or even 120 mins like in the super cup a couple years ago.

  • Registered Users Posts: 971 ✭✭✭AdrianG08

    Conor Coady is absolute sh*te.

The worst kind of lad who regularly gets taken to the cleaners but likes to act the leader with his positive attitude.

Pointers we used to call them.

I hope it's precautionary with Fab and not a let's hope his alright and rush him back for the CL final...

The fact that you can make 5 subs in a European match means he might be risked even if he isn’t fully fit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Paul Tierney in the VAR room enjoying this with a nice cigar I’d imagine. Was never going to give that.

Wolves bending over for City tonight. Joke shop defending, pathetic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

I'd forgotten all of the miracles recoveries he's made previously to play us. You're right, nailed on he plays the full game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 971 ✭✭✭AdrianG08

Thought that was a penalty, caught him with first attempt at the tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

City were always going to win this IMO.

But the room in midfield is appalling. Wolves CBs have no chance with no cover.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

wOULD BE Cool to see Wolves score next one, just to make it interesting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Coady way on, that was a chance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,196 ✭✭✭McFly85

Unless Southampton have one of their 9-0 shockers too then I think you can say they’d need to lose and draw their last 2 games

    2 draws would be enough.

But yeah, it’s looking like matching their points won’t do the business anymore with +8 goals in their last 2 games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

The one advantage we have of City playing twice before us, and assuming they beat West Ham, is that Klopp will know the lay of the land and can really rotate/rest players in the last 2 league games. Absolutely no point in doing any different as there's not a hope in hell City both lose to Villa at home and there being a huge swing in the GD. Prep solely for Madrid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    It was always WH

AND then hope Gerrard is indeed a decent manager, and actually is smart enough to play constricted football away to City. I'd lose faith in his ability if he goes there and loses 5-0 by playing open football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

Lads the league was lost when we didn't win at the ethiad, it's over, city are relentless. Sky keep hyping up a race for a title but are blissfully ignorant of the recent history in this race with city.

    Give it up lads,it's over

Not happening now. No way City aren’t winning at least 1 of those games. Rally the troops for the 2 cups.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

We've Wolves at home last day - just realised it's the same last day fixture as the 97 point season a couple of years ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,196 ✭✭✭McFly85

    No point giving up yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Jones starting in midfield last night was giveaway that Klopp feels the league is gone. If we had beat Spurs on Saturday there is no way he starts Jones last night so I think we can move on and concentrate on the 2 cups! It's would be painful if we were to finish this season with just a league cup so let's just focus on winning both...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,899 ✭✭✭Girly Gal

FA cup and CL are the priorities now, the league is well and truly over (in truth it has been since the draw at the Etihad, and rubber stamped by our draw with Spurs). Might as well rest the lads for the remaining league games as some of them look knackered and need a rest to be fresh for the CL final. Hopefully we win the cup.on Saturday and take some of the pressure off the CL final.

It’s obviously unlikely but it doesn’t really affect our team selection from now anyway. City play again in the league before we do so we’ll know if there’s anything to play for before our next league game.

    So cmon the hammers!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Unreal from city 22 goals in last 4 matches to flip goal difference advantage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

It's a good thing they're singing Haaland to sovle such inefficiency in front of goals!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

usually a positive person when it comes to Liverpool and there's always hope but have to say that could be it now for the league unfortunately...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Not about goal difference , never was for me. It's about WH away, if City win then it's over. But not until then. Even a draw there is keeping it alive for us, and takes it to the last day.

City have conceded only 9 away goals all season, which is nuts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,417 ✭✭✭.G.

When they canter to a win like that away to a team they alway struggled against then you just have to accept reality. 5 shots on target and 5 goals. The universe is telling us something! Watch Wolves put up a much sterner test at Anfield too.

The champions league is a must win imo. Ending this season without either of the big ones will be a massive disappointment given how good this team is.

  • Registered Users Posts: 391 ✭✭bdmc16

No one ever said it was soley about GD but of course much rather have on our side than not to avoid the cruelest of ways to lose a league. It’s certainly wasn’t beyond realms of possibility afew games ago that Liverpool might draw one and City lose one after Madrid defeat so GD could easily have been a factor.

There a strong chance city score 5 in their remaining games which shows show broken they have made this league.

  • Registered Users Posts: 391 ✭✭bdmc16

Huge blow to miss Fab after that injury last night trying to keep in touch with City. Kovavic going off injured tonight for Chelsea may be important as well as he always seems to play very well against us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Its about time the Premier League leveled the playing field. City, a club that can't even sell it's home tickets, or it's cup final tickets , a club with a small worldwide fan base is out spending everyone, and we all all knows it's on the back of shady inflated deals , and if they do get a ban for breaking FFP rules, they buy their way out of it with more shady money, which is so ironic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,592 ✭✭✭brevity

Just have to win the Champions League.

I agree. The teams that have a smaller global fan base should have their spending capped to allow clubs with larger fan bases to spend more.

Every commercial deal they do some how links all the way back to Abu Dhabi, in January they announced a deal with Masdar, a renewable energy company. What was discovered however, is that Masdar is owned by the Mubadala Investment Company, which turns out is a sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi, and the chief executive officer of Mubadala is a businessman named Khaldoon Al Mubarak, and who is he, let me see, he's chairman of Manchester City. It's so obvious and totally ridiculous what they are doing. So no they are not playing fair, they are making up sponsors as they go along. Masdar pay money in, while in some shady palace in Abu Dhabi where there are no eyes or ears, Sheikh Mansour ,City's owner gives back what Masdar put in. On paper looks like a great sponsor, when in fact it's just the owner pumping money in backhandedly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

And City's logic ?????????? You can't actually prove it, so we're innocent. That is their logic, if it can't be proved then it's not a problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

It's no different than Putin, he denies everything, we all know they've killed tortured raped thousands, but Putin is like, no we didn't, you can't prove it, so it never happened, all fake new, all actors.

  • Registered Users Posts: 97 ✭✭Johnrazz

Never knew this. How much was the sponsorship for? And why did the premier league sanction it. Don’t they review all sponsorships to ensure they’re not inflated?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,038 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

I don't think the league green-lights deals... think it's the other way around, clubs go off and do their business, account overviews are reported later at some point, and then if the league think there's something fishy going on they launch an investigation if they're so inclined.

Like, obviously that made up crypto company (3Key) wouldn't have gotten past any league checks either, but Man City were more than happy to announce their partnership. It was only when independent journo's pointed out that literally no aspect of this company existed aside from the bank account giving money to City, that the partnership was cancelled.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

The fact is if we were to win the CL, City would be jealous of us, and we'd be jealous of their league win, both would gladly swap places, just like in 18/19 season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

Newcastle are a bigger threat, the Saudis don't even pretend not to be evil. It would have been great to have been this good around the Man U and Arsenal hay days when 75ish points could win you the league at a canter.

The problem with this is it’s extremely hard for a group of players to play this way when nothing is at stake for them. To play constricted counter attacking football there needs to be something on the line for them. They can play like that and do it well for 30/35mins but if and when the opposition take the lead then that’s that. The concentration levels required for that style of football is too much for a group of players on the beach.
