There's some up there for the Cork game now for anyone looking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,603 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

    Yes

Looking like it'll be a strong enough Mary I Fitzgibbon team from 2022/2023, with Shane Meehan and Carthach Daly moving on from the Freshers team for 2021/2022 as-well-as Dessie Hutchison joining up too.

Anyone know what the team is?

  • Registered Users Posts: 851 ✭✭✭Deskjockey

No Padraic Mahony in the matchday 26

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,251 ✭✭✭Mastermcgrath

that’s our best staring 15, was a bit nervy about Sunday as traditionally we don’t do favourites well but seeing that team im confident of a win.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,316 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Patrick Horgan moved out to centre forward for Cork

You can never write off Cork and its really the last chance for them to save there championship season

Really a huge huge game for us and them

Waterford by 12 to 15 points

Jamie Barron and Cárthach Daly on the starting team for Darragh Lyons and Iarlaith Daly from the Limerick game

Ian Kenny and Mark Fitzgerald in for Tom Barron and the vacancy created by Iarlaith Daly's absence.

Colin Dunford in for Pauric Mahony.

Glad to see Kenny back as corner back cover. Mark Fitzgerald would probably have been on the panel all along were it not for his injury, with the under 20 games bringing him along nicely. Interesting to see Tom Barron gone completely, seeing as he played most of the Limerick game. Also interesting that Michael Harney has been kept instead of Barron. A little surprised to see Mahony gone, as you might have thought that the tighter confines of Walsh Park would have suited him as a late replacement, but Cahill has a huge belief in pace, which Dunford brings with him

Of course, there may have been injuries in training to Barron and Mahony. Also, Cahill made two changes to the announced starting line-up against Limerick, and we could see something similar on Sunday. I would expect Cárthach Daly to start in midfield, where he played in the league final, with Calum Lyons going to wing back. The selected team is probably the strongest available team. If he was match fit, I think Ian Kenny would have been in for Conor Gleeson.

Delighted to see both Luke Meade and Conor Lehane in the Cork team, as they lack physicality and are inclined to go missing when the going gets tough, as hopefully it will on Sunday. I hope they don't make me eat my words!

Tom Barron and Pauric Mahony injured.

  • Registered Users Posts: 888 ✭✭✭skaface

Best of luck to Liam and the lads tomorrow..

Lehane can get 3-4 points a game though. He is a good hurler but flakey.

    Luke Meade offers nothing.

Most of the fans know that they are going to be beaten well tomorrow. We know it. That's a very good Waterford team too. Cork will be out after tomorrow.
