PGA Championship 2022 app and website

Getting a bit worried here. I have the official PGA Championship 2022 app installed on my phone and the website bookmarked on my Firefox toolbar.

But, as of Tuesday afternoon..... when you study the options, there is no players' bios, no ability to mark favourites, no 'Tee Times' and no 'Leaderboard'.

pgatour.com is still showing the Byron Nelson data so help there.

The app now has a ‘Scoring’ option which shows tee times and leaderboard. But if you have your favourite players stored in pgatour.com I’d stick with the PGA Tour app. That showed the tee times today before they showed up in the PGA Championship app.

Thanks, I know that's the norm where a tournament has it's own website. But in this case, I wouldn't be so sure, especially as pgatour.com posted the tee times before they showed up (as 'starting times'!) on the official app. On the website, there's still no players' bios and you can't mark players as favourites so you can see how they're doing in a personalised leaderboard.

I've installed the official app before every golf major going back several years and this is without a doubt the worst app ever.

It'll be the norm for this too. PGA Tour App will be pulling live scores from their data provider who will be pulling from the PGA Championship App, hence the delays

Should be a good tournament and looking forward to seeing the course, from an irish perspective think Lowry is in with a great chance, course sets up well for him and has the form to go along with it. Rory won't be far off also if he can get off to a decent start. Padraig & Seamie power should be more than capable of making the cut and after that who knows.

I always use flashscore for the golf and it seems to be up to date so far.

Flashscore pull off Opta I think, so again, will likely be maybe 4-5 mins behind the PGA Championship App/Website. On a normal tournament, Flashscore would be same timing as PGA App (as they pull from the same source). Can see currently for example Homa is thru 6 on Flashscore but thru 7 on PGA Championship App (important just in case people are doing live betting etc especially)

I dipped in and out last night. Saw a couple of putts of Shane's. Tbf I saw more shots of Brooks scrambling out of the bunkers. Those bunkers must be a nightmare if the pros are struggling on them.

Ha ha. Yeah I saw that too. Actually after I posted there was a fair bit of coverage of his group. But I’m general the coverage kept leaving interesting shots and very few replays of the great shots and dramatic stuff. Maybe not enough time with the numbers in first 2 days.

It's always fairly frustrating on day 1, and to a lesser extent day 2, with these things.

They have to follow the markee groups and it seems to be a bit of a scramble then to get coverage of any fast starters to add to it... They're not likely to jump to any players just plodding along unless there's a big highlight (eagle, hole in one etc).

With the amount of golfers out there, it's hard to keep us happy.

The Master's App is brilliant in this regard but we also have the frustration them not showing live coverage until our evening with the Masters.

Six of the top seven overnight were early starters yesterday so they’re going late out today. Couldn’t help notice yesterday evening that the top of the leaderboard on TV was pretty static - all of them were in the clubhouse. Wonder will there be an advantage for early starters today?

edit: just got an answer when I spotted this from Greg Alllen on Twitter. Looks the late starters today will have the advantage…

Taking photos during play is prohibited but I saw a huge number of phones held aloft yesterday when Tiger was playing on the edge of a fairway, close to the spectators.

Eldrick didn’t take to kindly to a tv cameraman walking off the tee box with the camera on him. Wasn’t that close and I thought he was a bit out of order. Fine if he was preparing for shot but was just off the tee box. Not sure what hole it was so guess where it went might be reason.
