in the 900s for Dublin and the 50s for Tipp. I don't feel I did a great aptitude test so I'm not surprised. I assume that number is quite high for both locations? More interested in Dublin TBH.

Just got an update that the qualifying score was messed up and it’s 34 not 20. Will they recalculate ooms or did they just had a typo?

  • Registered Users Posts: 102 ✭✭Em2157

It depends on the region you chose. Obviously the lower the number, the better, but obviously Dublin will have a much higher number of people doing the tests than any other region, so the top numbers are much more competitive. They also have more jobs there though, so if you are a high OOM for a region with little jobs, they may not get to you. I was in the 800's for Dublin, but don't see that as too bad! Don't forget, they may give a new OOM after the next stage also, the OOM's just determine the batches to proceed to next stage usually.

It does say that all those who qualified for the next stage in Dublin will be called in June also.

I'm also in 900s for Dublin. However when I reread the message its says everyone successful will be going through to shortlisting so the OOM may change again based on that so we might be ok?

I got 20s for westmeath so that might work out OK but depends on where in Westmeath

A lot of variables obviously but what score is typically good enough to earn an interview?

Ye reckon it'd be something along the lines of the top 120 for Dublin; 20 for Cork, 15 for Limerick. A score of about 120/180?

Hey,there may be another OOM before interview as it says that the next stage is shortlisting, so that would have to be passed first. This OOM will just determine how quickly we are called for shortlisting I would say, and I have no idea what 'shortlisting' entails!

I'd just focus on a pass at this stage :)

It absolutely will. There will be internal comps too, and keep an eye on specialist comps on Public jobs. Good luck

As a message on boards. 10:43 they sent it. It says

Further to your Stage 1 Result letter issued today, please note there was an error in the qualifying mark.

The qualfying mark for each assessment is 34 not 20 as previously stated.

Please accept our apologies for any confusion caused.

so wondering if it’s just a boo-boo or they have to recalculate everything

Do you know what 'shortlisting' is? Is it looking at our application forms, or will we have to do something? My first HEO comp...

  • Registered Users Posts: 31 avocadoator

I heard they would be shortlisting based on the forms we submitted. So that is what I am hoping!

  • Registered Users Posts: 24 Kay46a

The PO comp running at the moment Stage 2 was shortlisting on application form then straight to interview so might be the same for this competition.

Didnt put Dublin down as my own choices but id imagine anyone in the top 1000 will end up having their form looked at for shortlisting. There is a dearth of staff in certain depts and i believe they expect an awful lot of retirements across the CS in the next few years

Passed and actually did really well. Including the maths in the total score was huge for me!

  • Registered Users Posts: 51 ✭✭Dubjane

That's unfortunate I just got the 34 to pass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

What kind of scores are people getting?

    I got 54 Verbal and 63 Numerical.

    117 total.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 779 ✭✭✭Littlefinger

204 OOM for Dublin and 8 for my county . Happy enough with that. 62 verbal 54 numerical. Kind of surprised with that as Math has always been my strong point.

I didn't do too well 1300s in Dublin so not looking to likely. I did hear it is a 4 year panel though so if that's true I might stand a chance and as a poster above said there is a lot of retirements lately and many more expected in the coming months

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 caznemoy

I think the booklet said the panel will terminate at the end of March 2024 🙈

  • Registered Users Posts: 2 pinklady22

    I got 63 verbal and 77 numerical.

    Total 140.

    Surprised but extremely happy 😁

I got top 20 for Dublin and number 2 for my county.

This is my first attempt at HEO...is there anyway I wouldn't get an interview with those OOM, does anyone know?

Unless you sent in a blank application form you'll be called to next stage very soon.
