Difficulty finding a place selling flat 3 core and earth / 4 core

Hey guys,

Is flat 3 core and earth a relatively uncommon cable to stock? The suppliers around me seem to only stock round NYM-J.

I can keep calling around of course but my experience is that if they don't stock the cable it ends up being a very convoluted conversation.

I can make the round cable work. But if I could get it flat it'd give me a few more ideal options for routing it.

I have never seen such a cable. If it exists I would think that it is special order and very expensive.

Thanks, they only appear to do stranded cable tough. I'm looking for solid. And what they seem to have is all round.

In the UK they seem to do flat variants. Just not over here. 🤷

B&Q do twin and earth , I don't know about 3 and earth though.

It is always best to buy from an electrical wholesaler. I would advise that people B&Q and Woodies type places for electrical cable and accessories. They are simply too expensive, have less choice and frequently products are of less quality than what can be found in a proper electrical wholesalers.

The flat 4 core cable you that linked to is not permitted here as the earth is uninsualted.

What do others prefer for wiring 2 way switches then? A bunch of single cores? Or a combination of single and twin and earth?

For this you will need 2 strappers + 1 earth = 3 cores

If additional cores are needed add cables as requied.

Last time I was doing them it was t+e loops to switches

Twin brown +cpc strappers and a single blue drop to the 2 way

Ah right. Thanks guys. In this case I have loop to the switch. So that's why I was looking to connect the 2 way switch with the 3 cores and earth. Anyway, I was just looking for the most elegant way of completing the wiring is all
