The Gaming Showcase Thread

Yeah, lots of stuff still in the air but the summer months are looking a bit lean alright.

Trek to Yomi is one indie I was looking forward to, but previews were mixed. Hopefully it delivers because I love the Kurosawaness of it all.

I'm also patiently waiting for news on when Lego Bricktales will release. I already know I'll be humming the DuckTales theme song when I play, but obviously substituting Brick for Duck.

Looks like we'll be getting a closer look at The Callisto Protocol over the summer. Keighley replied to the below Tweet with an eyeball emoji, so could well be during SGF.

Jeff Grubb says Star Wars celebration (26-29 May) is when we'll get a reveal for the sequel to Jedi Fallen Order. Pencil that one in to your diary, Retro - I know you can't wait for it. 😉

So did I, but now they have a whole separate weekend to pimp their shows, games etc.

We can but hope!

Redfall. That was supposed to be out this summer, but it's been rumoured as delayed for a while. I still think it will be this year though, so should definitely be shown next month.

Day of the Devs and Summer Games Fest both confirmed for Thursday June 9th. SGF will be shown in select IMAX theatres apparently.

Anyway, 505 Games are having a product showcase next week - May 17th at 14:00 our time.

There's definitely no thread for The Callisto Protocol yet (I double checked), so I'll leave this here for now;

I'm glad most of these events are happening in the same few days, more or less.

Date and times confirmed for both the Future Games Show, and the PC Gaming Show. Both sticking to the same weekend in June as XB.

Do ye want to do a prediction bingo thing this year? I can't remember how we did it last year, tbh.

Fair play. Might it be an idea to change it up this year? We'll have even less people playing thanks to the migration, so even less chance of a winner. Something like a league system with points for predictions? 3 for a spot-on prediction, 1 for a close-ish one, etc (just for example).

Bonus points were part of my thinking too. 👍️

With several showcases in the same time period, I'd personally go with just one contest for the entire week or two. We know SE, Capcom, EA etc aren't having a show, so their stuff could show up anywhere. As for the bingo idea, it works better with a larger group of players imo, because more cards = more combinations of predictions, meaning more likelihood of a winner. If there's only a handful of us playing (which is a distinct possibility 😅), it might be boring?

I was going to suggest people make their own predictions, each with a number of components and you could score points for each component that's correct. Kinda like some of the YouTubers do it I guess?

Having said all that, if people are okay with the bingo format, that's cool!
