Contact one of the American firearms exporters, I used Gibraltar Arms. It will cost you but if you need the part, you need the part.

Is there any issue importing accessories from another country outside of europe like recoil pads or shims for cast and drop for a repeater?

No but a lot of US companies won't ship outside of the US.

Not for anything gun related they'll refuse it once they check paperwork ! Then you'll have to get it returned to shipper and hope for a refund.

However just wondering, what's the attitude towards firearms in Ireland like? Are there large parts of society which would favour a US-style gun attitude?

In terms of guns, there's mixed opinions here. Yer in the gun section so most of us would like more open laws but not everyone does.

I doubt that one can use a US Address and find somebody to send something gun related on to Ireland. If it was that easy, the US gun manufacturer would sell spare parts to Ireland. Also sending as a parcel is probably also a bad idea, customs might open it ( it's from outside the EU), and apart from paying customs, maybe a fine will have to be paid.

So the whole undertaking is a bit risky.

Getting anything from the US is prone to problems these days; they have very strict export/import laws and end of day for spare parts and including normal odds and ends it’s not worth their time/cost to go and complete the paper work involved.

    Big brother bureaucracy……………….

The majority of the Irish population wouldn't know a barrel from a buttstock, and apart from what they have learned from MSM news propaganda and the Hollywoo fiction factory and Call of Duty games. They would be too easy influenced that any sort of liberalisation of gun laws here would cause us to become the Southside of Chicago in an instant!

Just to give an example without going OT or into RTKBA country here, pepper spray, which is freely available and sold virtually in any newsagent on the continent and even German police giving them out to 16-year-old girls on personal safety talks in schools,is considered a prohibited weapon here, and in the Uk.

Despite numerous sexual assaults and two murders that could have been avoided here in Ireland and the UK had the women been carrying a can of pepper spray. The attitude of even women organisations here and the UK is "It will be like America in no time! And guns are not the answer!" So with that attitude, take a WAG as to how the GP would view looser legislation?🙄

The issue isn't Irish customs, it's US customs. The US has very strict export laws for anything related to firearms, so you need the right export paperwork even if it's something that doesn't require a license, like a scope or magazine. No paperwork, no export, no import, simple as. No fine AFAIK on the US side and certainly none here.

So you look about the EU for the same model, and purchase it in the EU from a country that has favoured trading for such with the USA.Also ,there are some US companies like web buy in Texas that will export to to Ireland no problem, once you sign an export certificate that they email to you before the sale goes thru.I bought two scopes off them no trouble that were unavailable in the EU at the time.So it can be done.Parts ,go to Brownells Germany,if it isnt on their website, email them and they can proably special order it for you from the US patent company.

    www.webyshops.com or www.webycorp.com

It seems to have gone out of business or has transcended into a...Whatever an omnichannel retailer is😫 Dug out my paperwork and I haven't bought anything off them since 2016!😒

IOW it looks like it's gone!!! I wonder has it got anything to do with the fact that the founders happen to be one Russian and two Belorussians and the current Ukraine conflict?😣
