That looked like it went forward out of the ruck

Piardi has certainly refereed with a strong sense of empathy shall we say to the Bulls…

Did the Bulls number 6 just drive his forearm into Doris's face at that last breakdown?

    Leinster need a score soon

Man. Ref stepping into the passing Channel. Getting hit. And initially calling play on. Not showing a lot of sympathy for leinster.

    That's a lovely score

    Great timing

    That's better.

Leinster can clearly manufacture gaps in the defence if they keep the ball. But Bulls have done extremely well in keeping it away from us and disrupting the play. Quite similar to La Rochelle actually.

    Edit looked different first time

And then wanting to give the scrum to the Bulls. JGP has pissed him off (and JGP was definitely making some sort of point by pinging it off him) and he really didn't want to give that to Leinster.

Evening up some earlier calls with a very generous "down by white" call at the maul there.

    any streams for this?

Not quite sure about this referees interpretation at the ruck. Awarded a turnover to the Bulls for the same thing he penalised JGP for.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinster are in huge trouble. Not keeping control of the ball well enough, struggling in the aerial battle and struggling with the referees interpretation at the ruck.

Sooner JGP goes off the better.

Forwards need to toughen the f*ck up.

Our pack is heavier but they're just getting manhandled (again).

Piardi looking a little out of his depth here. Calling 'play on' when tackle completed (twice) where other refs would be calling 'hands away'. Getting no help from his ARs either.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinsters linking play has looked much better than against La Rochelle. They aren't flooding the channel of the second receiver as often so we're getting those tip ons to the wing.

But when the game gets tighter we're struggling a lot. The Bulls look much more capable in contact.

Kearney made a good point about ball in play time being quite low. When we've managed to keep the ball and stretch the game we've looked able to score. But conditions are poor so we can't do that as frequently. And the Bulls have been very street wise in having frequent team huddles before every scrum and lineout. Slows play even further.

Jimmy O'Brien has had lots of ball and done little with it. Doris with (yet another) knock on and then gives away a penalty.

Byrne hasn't gotten into the game either, Park is running the show (and making up for other players missed tackles while he's at it).

Ringrose having a good game as is Henshaw. Pack is fronting up but making simple errors and discipline isn't great.

We're a bit off the pace and need to click early in the second. Back us to win given the benches.

Also, Leinster aren't competing as hard at the breakdown as they were against La Rochelle. That needs to be adjusted. I'm not convinced the Bulls have been legal in that area but the referee is and that's what matters.

    Wtf Henshaw

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Ah Robbie.

    Bulls will secure from this
