I love Kate but you can top the charts these days by selling three singles

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

Hmm. This leads my to formulate a theory...

You know this because you bought those three singles ???

you can top it by selling no singles - you'd need a PhD to figure out how they currently calculate the charts.

I wonder will this inspire her to actually make some new music...

have you ever been welsh megaman?

    Only once, in 2000.

And yes, I was there for Bowie’s performance.

Glastonbury this year looks particularly good. I've never been to my shame but will right that someday. At least St Vincent is popping over after her performance which rules out my Sunday evening in front of the telly.

Sky Arts are showing Hawkwind Solstice At Stonehenge 1984 at midnight. One for the VHS collection.

Also on Sunday (into Monday) at midnight on BBC2, the excellent documentary 'Glastonbury: 50 Years and Counting'.

Glastonbury 2022 preview show starting right now on BBC2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,014 ✭✭✭trashcan

Probably showing my age, but the Bill for Glastonbury leaves me pretty cold. Macca, obviously the highlight (despite his failing voice) but there’s not much else. Crowded House, and Supergrass should be good. I believe Glenn Tilbrook is playing, but probably won’t feature on TV.

You can tell my type of era from the above. I wouldn’t have a clue about this Billie Eyelash or the likes.

Yeah - the Acoustic stage looks better..

headline performances from Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott (June 24), The Waterboys (25) and Suzanne Vega (26).

an 80 year old man with a failing voice is the headline act, sad state of affairs really isn't it😔

    WHOA!

He is the biggest-selling musician OF ALL TIME, and his music changed the world!

I think we can cut him some slack. :)

(However if he doesn’t play ‘Coming Up’, Welsh Megaman go something something!)

Yeah I'm not digging the lineup this year either. Very poor I think. The acts just aren't my cup of tea this year whereas they usually seem to have a good few I'd be into.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,609 ✭✭✭dasdog

I'd love to be there. Just scanning through the stages:

    BILLY BRAGG

    LTJ BUKEM

yeah, even if you don't know 90% of the acts; there's just so many acts playing that 10% is more than enough. Besides, even just watching on TV I've caught acts that I'd never heard of and they've been brilliant.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,460 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

It's poor but usually if you watch enough of it and have it in the background, they will round up highlights from the other stages.

yes i know, i love the beatles and i saw the man himself live 20 yrs back....but my point is -isn't it a sad state of affairs that they have to rely on a old age pensioner as the headline act, just shows that modern day music just doesn't have the talent compared to previous generations...and please don't mention Ed Sheeran he's just a glorified busker😑

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,898 ✭✭✭✭loyatemu

he's the headline act because he's Paul f**king McCartney.

The other 2 nights are headlined by Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar who are hardly heritage acts.

Anything that's good to me or that I'd like to see isn't being shown on bbc unfortunately

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,714 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

In fairness who is going to follow Paul McCartney?

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,714 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

Often when an hour long slot is billed as Act X they'll show 40 minutes or so and the rest will be other stuff. There are also "compilation" shows for want of a better word

Doesn't appear to be any red button coverage this year but we do have BBC 3 back as a proper channel.

a lot of it will be on the iPlayer too, though if your favourite act is on one of the smaller stages you're probably out of luck.

Love Glasto weekend telly! An annual couch outing for me. A few beers and trying to battle my jealousy of the punters there.

sidenote: I’m all for creativity, but can’t come to terms with the band name “Wet Leg”. Just no
