Clear skies this morning for the first time in a bit. Now, if that wind would ever bugger off we'd be doing nicely.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

    Yep lovely bright morning

It was stunningly beautiful early this morning(so much so that the baby was awake at 5am with the sunrise laughing at me when I tried to get him back asleep😎)

However there are big blacks clouds here now here in NCD so no doubt rain is on way yet again.

Lads I think you better get out and cut that hay while you can.

I would take 17c up here in Donegal at this stage.

Another morning started ok here, but is turning into another cloudy breezy day with misty showers. Temps probably be around 14c here again.

Bright most of early morning. Meath. Then a heavy pop-up shower just now.

Got up to the dizzy heights of 16c here in Sligo but all it did was build up moisture and there was a sudden cloud burst n we all got soaked (again).

Very heavy showers so disappointing another weekend of rubbish weather. Flowers in bits can’t cut the lawn.

Very intermittent showers today in between stretches of warm sunshine. Yer typical Irish summer's day. Great for plants.

Wasn't a bad day in Sligo and got to 17c and sunny at times. But it's Saturday. Our pet day. Tomorrow will prob be pishn once more.

We should get one or 2 hot days from the heatwave though before it all goes to pot after a week.

Thursday had 0.3mm in a 24 hour period.

The rainfall amount for the month of June was 5% above normal. Wet start and finish to the month with a long dry period in the middle.

This week is a complete write off for the Northwest. The South and East will get nice weather.

Overall the South and East might get 2 weeks of good weather at least and the Northwest 3 days.

Looks pretty shite for the NW

For most areas, rainfall amounts will be between 0 and 5 mm (10 to 20% of average). Western and northern parts of Connacht and Ulster will have somewhat higher rainfall amounts with between 10 and 15 mm (60 to 70% of average)

Generally most areas were duller than normal over the past week, with sunshine totals between 50 to 110% the average. Dublin had the sunniest weather, with almost 40 hours of sunshine recorded there at Casement Aerodrome. Less than 19hours was recorded in Malin Head. Over the coming week, there will be a good deal of cloud overall. The best of the sunshine will be in the east and southeast of the country with around average or above average amounts here. It will be cloudier to the west and north with below average sunshine amounts expected, especially in parts of Connacht and Ulster.

After well above average rainfall over the past week, some soils in Connacht and western parts of Ulster and Munster are saturated with a few places waterlogged. The driest soils are in east Leinster with soil moisture deficits of 30 to 50mm in parts there. Field conditions will gradually improve as the week progresses, with only the soils in Donegal expected to remain close to saturation.

Hay is down in Carlow 😀

Is the upcoming warm spell confined to the southern half of the country or will some western areas get it? Trying to plan next weekend!

Won't be bad in the West next weekend if charts stay the same. 19 to 22c likely at least. The past 5 weekends in Sligo in June/July have been

    Weekend 1 Max 17c

    Weekend 2 Max 16c

    Weekend 3 Max 15c

    Weekend 4 Max 14c

    Weekend 5 Max 16c.

So compared to that itl feel tropical. There's been strong winds all those weekends too bar the 1st one.
