You should have hidden it under the heroin missus.

  • this is very strange. I agree in general with non/drinking on board rule to cut out the gurrier type element

not getting the full story here of course.

Profiled them - easy, a gang of OAP ladies using their free travel passes for a jolly.

Ha ha so they caught her because she posted about it on Instagram! Maybe don't post your boring life for the world (and Irish rail...) to see...

  • Why don’t you police the gurriers and t-wurds consumption then?

    it is ridiculous though.

But this is where we are, Anne and her prosecco drinking friends can't have a tipple due mainly to scum from Dublin heading down the country on hens and stags and not being able to control themselves

The website seems to suggest no alcohol allowed at all so if you are going shopping you can't bring alcohol on the train to your destination...

What is Iarnród Éireann's alcohol policy?

Customers are advised that alcohol is not permitted on any Iarnród Éireann service until further notice.

Pushing the well dressed angle? And gender? Jaysus, talk about victimhood. Rules are rules. It sucks when you get done and someone else doesn't but that's the way it goes.

I suspect they're as bad as the pensioners. :)

Should have offered the guard some cheese-filled sarnies with the cucumber garnish.

  • The scum often get in at certain stops, and Portarlington is one of the worst. Travelling by rail can be very uncomfortable as there is no proper security, they only go after easy pickings. They don’t touch noisy gurrier types.

Maybe you shouldn't post it all on instagram open for everyone to see and you might have got away with it you thick?.

The only train I get regularly is the enterprise and it has a bar on it...so drinking not an issue.

I did go down to Westport years ago (as in 10 years) and had a bottle of wine (there were 3 of us) I admit and zero issue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,210 ✭✭✭shearforce

she was a fool to hand that wine over, especially if no member of staff had seen it.

Either way she was about to take it out to drink soon enough once the train got moving, so she'd have been done anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,288 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

So part of her response is I should be allowed to drink... because....we had vegan sausage rolls and a cheese platter?!? Lol

Be prepared for your picnic baskets to be scanned for plonk at every station in the country, before you board.

Somethings a sing song is good on the train, it's when some areshole takes out a guitar and thinks he's Noel Gallagher that it becomes a proper pain in the hole.

This topic has potential. Grainne and her entitled mates vs anti-everything knobheads

I have to say zero issues on the enterprise and it has a bar.

It is also 15 euro each way super value really.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,194 ✭✭✭Jarhead_Tendler

You'd imagine some discretion should be used. 12 women with 2 bottles not going to do any harm. Fine don't let anyone drink on the train but don't confiscate it.

From working in pubs over the years....pissed groups of older ladies were extremely hard work.

Just because you have a cheeseboard it doesn't exempt you from the rules...lol
