2 wrongs don't make a right and this kind of thing does nothing for the image of farming in this country and the many challenges it faces already. Crimes against nature are now recognised by the likes of the UN given the Biodiversity crisis across the globe. In other countries like Spain similar crimes are dealt with far more seriously via significant custodial sentances and 6 figure fines in serious cases. As the judge noted in this case, the recklessness of this clown in terms of using a toxic substance that has been banned in the EU for over 20 years now could have killed anything from pets to working dogs or even a child if they had come in contact with it.

The same UN that has Russia as a permanent member of the security council. The UN has Zero credibility anymore.

Also how do those countries deal with cases where humans are killed or injured. They may also have more severe penalties for those offences.

In this country you could be convicted of manslaughter and get a sentence of a couple of years.
