It's a fair argument and I admit my own comments are a gross oversimplification of what's essentially a hostile takeover of the already popular territories. But he did make it global and made the likes of Hogan, Austin, Rock (and of course, McMahon) etc into household names.

Vince will only truly be gone when he is dead and even then he'll probably pop back up for a casket match

Next week: What's Mince VcVahon doing in the Impact Zone?

The Legendary TNA tag team VKM return to the Impact Zone managed by VKM

I'd say Vince could have the same fortitude as the Rolling Stones and no doubt he could still go

I'd say he'll be lifting like a lunatic now that he has so much time

Firstly, he's probably working on dealing with whatever allegations are fixing to come out against him, plus dealing with whatever business that comes with being a majority stockholder. There's no way he's sitting idle. Lifting weights is all well and good but I don't think it wouldn't provide the mental stimulation that business does. Not for Vince, anyway.

Unless the allegations are of a serious criminal and credible nature, I expect to see Vince back in WWE at some point.

You would have to figure Vince is doing what he allowed others to do. To take some time off for heat to die down.

Eg, Pat Patterson and the abuse scandal in 1992. Hogan racist remarks. British Bulldog and Ultimate Warrior steroid revelations.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

Also should be stated that Vince was once the man who during the steroid trial, was planning that if he should lose he would continue running wwe from jail. As insane as that sounds that was the plan thrown around. X-Pac and Bret Hart both mentioned this in interviews.

Jerry Jarrett was going to be brought in to run the day to day operations. That's right, Jeff's dad. So when you look at it that's the type of guy McMahon is.

You have to think this retirement is all for show.

Not sure how reliable this is however...

Triple H taking over creative apparently

So, basically, he was defrauding shareholders, and that's why he was forced out. Retirement announced right after the stock markets closed, this announced right as they reopen.

    Quite the turnaround for HHH.

He’s gone from losing control of NXT to running all WWE creative

  • Registered Users Posts: 60,698 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Well Vince retiring hasn't effected the stock price in a negitive way it is up about $2 from 69.81 a share to 72.04 which is a 52 week high.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,463 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Was reading some people talking about it, but the basic gist is there's a belief Vince could just sell up, so people are buying stock in case there's a takeover.

Vince claimed his pay outs to the women as expenses on the company books.

Help one of his talent get away with murder arrange the cover up the rape of a female talent while on a tour of US military base, Pressure talent into sleeping with him or giving him sexual gratification and lots of steroids that is all OK..

But touch our money well then f(uk you we are bringing you down.

Would Vince's business side be missed ?

ie for getting the big stadium deals for Wrestlemania etc, No doubt Nick Kahn and SMH have great business pedigree

Cant 't ever see Nick Kahn been a on screen figure though

Vince wealth increased by $144m at the close of the stock market in the US with the rise of his WWE stock.

Thing is, WWE is a brand. It's what sells. Am sure Vince has made many business relationships with owners and operational managers (etc) of various stadiums and big venues but it won't matter if Vince left. WWE the brand is bigger than Vince McMahon.

Interesting tidbit: Accordingly in the 80s Vince slowly, overtime, reduced the visual hierarchy of his top stars and made the brand more prominently to push the brand more. It's very interesting.

    Here is 1986:

    Modern era:

Thread title really should be changed, Vince didn't retire - I don't care what his tweet/WWE Statement said.

He was made to resign due to having his hand in the cookie jar too many times, and finally being caught. Vince is worth whatever he's worth, surely he could've spared $15 million of his own money

But nah, the fact he had to use and was caught using WWE money to cover up his dalliances as well. Cheap bastard.

Obviously I'm delighted, a great few days. You knew once he died the skeletons would come out of the closet, but at that stage he's dead and he doesn't have to face any consequences for his actions, at least this way he gets just a small taste of comeupance. A monster, not too dissimilar to Harvey Weinstein, who has been exposed to the wider world for exactly what he is. That's his legacy, nothing else.

So why then are the Securities And Exchanges and Federal investigators looking into it if he used his own money?

  • Registered Users Posts: 40,457 ✭✭✭✭ohnonotgmail

He used the companies money. he may be the majority shareholder but that doesn't give him free rein to use the companies money as he wishes. it all has to be properly accounted and it seems it wasn't.

  • Registered Users Posts: 906 ✭✭✭big syke

The SEC because they should have been recorded as company expenses. The NDAs needed to be reported/disclosed (because apparantly they benefit the company and can affect the share price) and the payments recorded as non reimbursable expenses.

FEDs probably because of the misconduct/coercement allegations

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,129 ✭✭✭✭rob316

All the money he has and he uses $15m of the companies money to sort his indiscretions. Stupid

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,558 ✭✭✭savemejebus

He did not use the companies money. That's what he is in trouble for (in this specific area). People misunderstood the initial tweet.

They're actually saying that legally he SHOULD have used the company money.

    Frightful:

Vince McMahon has lost stock in WWE.

According to a new SEC Filing, McMahon has disposed of 38519 shares of WWE stock at $0.

The filing states the disposed of stock "Consists of a portion of unvested stock units previously reported in Table I which were forfeited by Mr. McMahon in connection with his retirement from the Company effective July 22, 2022.

Vince still owns 69157 shares of stock, which excludes 100 shares of Class A Common Stock owned individually by Mr. McMahon's wife, Linda McMahon. Mr. McMahon disclaims beneficial ownership of those shares. He is still listed at 10% owner on the filing.

Vince announced his retirement on July 22. Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon were named Co-CEOs of the company. Triple H is now in charge of WWE creative.

McMahon is being investigated by the WWE board over alleged hush money and sexual harassment allegations.

Fightful Select has more details regarding Vince's retirement and Triple H being in charge of creative.
