    * Accepted trade-in of my ICE car with Tesla, sent in more paperwork to them earlier this week

    * M3 / RWD / Blue with black interior

    * OD 4th May / EDD Sep 2 - Sep 16 (Changed from Aug 3 - Aug 17 yesterday)

    * No VIN in source code, VIN is reported via open API.

    * Original plan was to trade-in my existing car to Tesla, but have since sold it directly to Honda dealer.

    * Received SMS from Tesla on 28/7 confirming a vehicle has been allocated

    * Received another SMS from Tesla to complete all remaining tasks on my account. I still need to remove my trade-in from my account.

    UPDATE

I've just removed the trade-in from my account and immediately afterwards my VIN appeared in the source code.

I spoke with a guy at Tesla sandyford this morning to book another test drive just to make sure about purchasing the car as I test drove an id4 there this week and it was very nice bar the tech which is very poor.

He told me the cars would be arriving in Ireland in the last couple weeks of august and will be ready for delivery the first week of September! Aligns with the new delivery date I have of 2nd to 16th September. Said I’d mention it in here in case it helps anyone!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭Enigma IE

Thanks dude. Good to get that confirmation from the guys in Sandyford.

If you are looking something like the ID4, then you should definitely check out the Ioniq 5 & EV6. I drove the Ioniq 5 and it's very impressive.

Paid my downpayment this week. All that's left is collecting now :) hurry up Elon!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭Enigma IE

Are you doing PCP? Did Tesla come looking for the downpayment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭LeeroyJ.

HP, they didn't but I figured I'll just tick that box off now :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭JOL1

I faced same choice some time back. Both are great cars but VERY different. The ID4 actually has a more comfortable ride and more space, as opposed to Tesla which excels with tech, minimalistic styling and speed. It comes down to personal choice but it’s like comparing an apple with an orange ..both are fruits but not comparable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 oxymon

Ya I think I much prefer the Tesla as I love tech and the Tesla screen + software is light years ahead of any other cars software that I’ve seen anyways. The id4 screen was very sluggish but seemingly most just use apple car play or android auto in them and they’re a lot quicker.

My mind is made up to be honest on getting the model 3 as I prefer the look of it outside and the tech. I’ll probably wrap the piece of wood on the dash to make it look somewhat nicer.

I did PCP and when I called them to ask about the finance application they sent me the account details to do the payment.

I need to collect before 8th September as I have a 3 weeks trip scheduled. Fingers crossed!

Is anyone still showing an early august EDD, or an august EDD at all, or have we all moved out to September?

    I had Aug 3-17 now Sept 2-16

Just got the call from Tesla. Car is due to land in the country on the 26th August with the pick up to be from the 29th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭Enigma IE

That's great news and not far away at all. Did the call come from the UK? I keep forgetting it's NOT a bank holiday over there today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,253 ✭✭✭Boscoirl

Yup came from a uk no.( a Maidenhead number) At 6pm

Great news, hopefully that is the start. did they offer you a delivery slot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,559 ✭✭✭Thumper Long

Did you have an august or September EDD prior to the call?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,253 ✭✭✭Boscoirl

No delivery slot yet. He just said that when the car arrives, They’ll need 3 days to PDI it and then it should be ready to collect. I am not sure when that will be arranged.

my EDD was 29th Aug - 12th Sept.

fingers crossed this timeline holds and I can collect on the 9th as I am going on holidays on the 11th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 689 ✭✭✭Mike2006

My EDD is still 19th Aug to 02nd Sept and I have not had a call yet so I am fully expecting my final EDD to move to later in September…

    Mike

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 999 ✭✭✭gabbo is coming

Any word on 7 seater Ys

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 col_m999

Got the maidenhead call aswell. He said the 19th Aug to 2nd September is a real window and can I accept car in that window. Seem to be hinting at the 19th which seems soon. He said i would be getting one of the 1st deliveries across UK and Ireland if I heard him correctly.

It would seem likely that our M3s are currently on the Morning Chorus, due to arrive in Zebrugge on 18th August - according to Mr Miserable on the Shipping Movements thread over on TeslaMotorsClub.

    https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/6927350/

"MORNING CHORUS ETA Southampton 15 Aug with 1,000 - 1,500 cars and ETA 18 Aug Zebrugge with 1,999 M3 and 950 MY. She is currently in a very hot and humid Gulf of Aden. She needs to get used to it as it only gets worse when she enters the Red Sea."

Allowing time for shipping them over land to Dublin and PDI, that would suggest taking delivery late August all going well, fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 713 ✭✭✭LeeroyJ.

No Call here yet, edd still Aug 29. - Sep 12. All pre-delivery tasks completed, including down payment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24 col_keaney

Have the others who got the delivery call paid the down payment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,253 ✭✭✭Boscoirl

I have only paid the initial deposit €250

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭JOL1

That is helpful and seems to explode one myth that paying in full affords earlier delivery preference. thanks

At what point do Tesla request the downpayment? I assume it’s refundable?

@JOL1 are you taking delivery or pushing it back to 2023?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭JOL1

The payment request is most likely on your account page where is says "make payment before delivery". I am not sure at what stage they start hassling you (or reminding) or f indeed they do. To the extent that you delay or wait I would be unsure of its impact but if you are committed to the purchase and have the available cash my instinct would be to make the payment or at least make it as soon as Tesla have confirmed a delivery date

I am taking delivery of new Mod 3 as soon as I can get it ..Currently EDD is Sept 2nd to Sept 16th so hopefully i get that call soon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,569 ✭✭✭eagerv

I didn't pay anything until a few days before final date of collection.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 19,482 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

I paid two days before, I paid in instalments as I wanted to see money being credited on account, too big a sum to transfer in one go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭Enigma IE

No request for any downpayment yet, either via account page or any comms I’ve had with them.

I’m due to handover my current car to Honda WC 15th, so that frees up the cash for downpayment & home charger install.

As I understand it on the PCP finance side, Tesla invoice finance Ireland once the downpayment is received. Assuming reg number would have been assigned at that point.

Assume once all that is in place, handover can happen.

Edit - a number of assumptions there, I’ll clarify everything once I get the call. 🤞🏻

Last word has been consistently not coming here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,217 ✭✭✭Paul Kiernan

How do you check for VIN in source code? I have one ordered but only info is my account page on website! It was dues for delivery next March but has recently switched to Sept 2nd - 16th!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,322 ✭✭✭splashthecash

I have finance approved, full deposit paid and showing on the site so nothing else pending other than a firm email or call regarding delivery from Tesla themselves. VIN is in source

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66 ✭✭whykay

I'm still waiting on the final invoice.. my account page is still on "we are drafting up your contract...". No word since I've sent docs regarding my car ownership to an email that auto-replied with a blank email response. No more text updates since either. My EDD is still Sept 2 to Sept 16.

Focussing on getting plans of how we are installing charger in our development (we own the house but pillar and carpark are in common areas).. at least management company hasn't said no but they have to send the plans of our proposed charger installation to the board for approval. The electrician wants us to get permission from our management company just. Yay...
