My bank are looking for my chapter 4 for 2020. My accountant has said that the Chapter 4 is now included in the Form 11. Issue is I don't know what I'm looking at and the bank are adamant that I need to send it to them.

Anyone know where I can get it?

ROS online. Your agent should be able to get it from there also.

Cheers, I take it ROS online is the part that only an agent can log into? You need to have a token I think? Reason I ask is a have just moved accountants and the new one said he still doesn't have the access. He was able to submit my 2021 Form 11 though (incorrectly I must add) - so I would have thought all the access would be the same?

All taxpayers can sign up to ROS online themselves. Once you do it, you can access. You should do it.

Correct, the new accountant won't have access to forms completed by prior accountant.

Revenue will have posted you a hard copy of the 2020 Ch4 Self-Assessment at the time the Form 11 was submitted. If you can locate that it may be the fastest way to solve the matter. Alternatively, can your new agent not get a copy of it from the previous agent. It would be normal, when moving for the incoming agent to request copies of the last filing/accounts etc. from the previous agent. An email could sort that quickly.

As Xander10 said, I would recommend that you apply for ROS access yourself anyway regardless of having an agent.

I've been searching high and low for the hard copy but could only find a "Notice of Amended Assesment - Chapter 5 of Part 51A Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 - Income Tax for the year ending 31 December 2020"

    I assume this something different?

You would think an email would sort this but obviously not! The original accountant keeps stating the Chapter 4 is included in the Form 11 for 2020.

Your agent must have either filed an amendment to the original 2020 Form 11 or there was otherwise an amendment to 2020 which is why you have the "amended assessment". That supersedes any original Ch4 for the year so that is actually what you're looking for.

Banks unfortunately often look for something which is not always in the format they are expecting. The assessment is the Revenue's answer to your self-assessed filed Form 11. Ultimately it is exactly what your agent filed as the self-assessment is part of the Form 11 but the Form 11 is filed from your end while the assessment is what Revenue issue form that. In the end it contains what they're looking for which is the income for the period as filed with Revenue.

Hi guys, sorry for dragging up an older thread but I'm having an issue registering for ROS online. I'm trying to set up ROS online and am having an issue with the first step. the error is "Either the tax type you have entered is not valid for this registration number or you have entered the registration number incorrectly" my PPS is correct so I think its the tax type, my previous tax type was PAYE- IND but there is no option for this in the drop down, only option is PAYE-EMP which is incorrect and most probably why I'm getting the error. Any advise offered is very much appreciated. Thanks.

You need to register for ROS under a business tax, eg income tax. It sounds like you're trying to add a tax registration and change your PAYE individual status.

Follow the steps at this link, register for Income Tax (assuming that's the tax in question) and Revenue will post out a letter to you to complete thr ROS registration process.

Thank you for replying. I was employed PAYE but now want to register as self employed. I tried selecting income tax in the same dropdown but got the same error. It says to select the tax type you currently are. The link you provided was where I am getting stuck, on step 1

You should still be PAYE Ind status in that case. However PAYE individuals would normally log into Revenue using MyAccount, not ROS. So if you've never been registered for Income Tax before you more than likely need to elect for Income Tax registration to get access to ROS.

The issue is that PAYE-IND is not in the dropdown (see screenshot below). How do I elect for income tax reg? Thanks again for your time.

That's an odd one. Call Revenue on Tuesday (only open until 13.30 FYI).
