Thanks gang, I'm fine. Just a combination of boredom and struggling to adjust to being back living at home with my folks and sister.

My train seat for the Limerick to Dublin train was booked for the E carriage but the train only had 4 carriages so I had to scramble up and down the train looking for a vacant seat.

Also, I'm TA'd at the amount of GAA fans clogging up the trains and stations at this time of year.

Feel the pain about Gah fans on trains Sarge. Irish Rail shoulda put on a 5th carriage. But means a bank holiday quality service from Irish rail.

Am watching the woman’s euro 2022 final…England vs Germany

England just went 2-1 up in extra time.

courtesy of a smart finish that was enabled by an English attacker, clearly fouling her opponent to steal the ball, in the box..and score.

what is the point in having technology, that can be looked at and disseminated by experts, multiple angels, speeds, on super HD 42” monitors, yet when a goal is awarded no VAR check even occurs ?

bizarre, I had to search and see if VAR is in use, ‘it is’… but nobody bothers, England win and are champions… could have been a bit different if fairness and the correct process and sound judgement had been happening…

seeing it in GAA, cricket, football that despite huge investment in technology to bring a high degree of fairness and accountability and accuracy to the decision making… still at times the people tasked with using this tech are culpable of error when it’s made easy for them…. not bothering checking though, ffs.

Never a foul, defender wasn’t strong enough. Soccer is still a “contact sport” and defenders need confidence and strength.

Wasn’t the prettiest goal but it was well won.

100% not a foul, obviously that observer isn’t a real “football man.”

I would be raging at that defence if I was a Germany fan (a “German”). The ball bouncing in the six yard box and the forward gets two swings at it. Absolutely desperate.

Cancel culture. Same people who would do everything in their power to destroy people, causing them to loose their jobs etc would be the first to give out if someone told them to shut up and be tolerant. The world is getting worse when so called left is more right wing in their mindset than right wing militants.

Being kind to a person who doesn't say thank you. I'm not looking for a bloody OBE, just a simple thank you.

Mod note this is a TA thread. The post was very clear. If you don't agree with it take it to pm rather than responding on thread

Had a phone consultation from a Liver specialist. He had such a heavy Middle \\Eastern accent I had trouble understanding so I kept asking him to repeat it. Half way in the call he hangs up, so now I'm in limbo as to what happens next.

Didn’t make contact with the ball first, contacted the player, went through them… . Foul for me 100%.

Had an in person consultation with a specialist a few years ago and her English wasn’t all that either… somewhere in the Indian subcontinent was her origin I’m guessing…my family member who I was with and myself just laughed afterwards.. it was like something out of a comedy…

Industries like aviation evaluate pilots and ATC personnel to ensure a good and appropriate level of English is spoken…tests are required… I wonder why in healthcare where critically important information is being discussed and communicated with and to patients you can have some individual with a jokeshop level of English competency a totally inappropriate level of English to speak with patients..

I understand your TA put it that way.

Completely lost the run of myself at a BBQ on Saturday so I spent yesterday dying off in bed. I haven't had a hangover this bad in ages. Only feel slightly better this morning. So this is the beginning of the 2 day hangovers for me. And there's no bank holiday in the North today so I'm struggling on through work.

Same. Although it wouldn't have made much of a difference anyway, as the dogs on either side started a protracted barking war half an hour later anyway.

Went for a long walk earlier and passed four supermarkets (Tesco, Dunnes, Super Valu, Lidl). Didn't go into any as I did a full shop on Saturday.

Got home and realised that the cat is almost out of food.

A persistent and irritating itch on the pad of skin at the back of my big toe.

    What the hell causes that?

When seemingly harmless threads are closed and without explanation. A discussion about how quick time goes and also experiences of living with a drug user. What is the deal with that? 🙄

The style of filming where the camera is constantly moving, I don't mean panning left/right, I'm talking where it's like a drunk one leg monkey is holding the camera. Ridiculous

You have immediately reminded me of my Dad screaming about NYPD Blue for that some years ago. Dizzying and frustrating

When your cat decides that your neatly stacked paintings are the best place to take a piss. At least they were all wrapped in bubble wrap for the move so we only lost one but that was a fun hour of cleanup!
