Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trent called out on BT, McManaman very quiet though.

started the game running away from mitrovic and getting an earful from van Dijk. Ducks his head at the back post then for the goal, almost a copy of City’s goal from last week.

    Unlucky from Diaz

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

Yep, either put the brakes on and win the foul, or aggressively attack the ball and head clear. Trent did neither. Poor defending, he looked way too lax.

Call it honesty, or naivety, but sometimes you just need to cause a roadblock, hold your ground, and let the player behind you run over you, where both of you end up on ground. He was railroaded forward, and used as a ladder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Diaz coming into it more now and his man is on a yellow.

It’d be interesting to see Nunez on for a midfielder in the second half and try the 4-2-3-1 that’s been rumoured.

Diaz seems to always go close with belters, need to change that to scoring tap ins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Don't know what the stats are but it feels like we go behind in an awful lot of games. Compared to the likes of City. We usually still win but it seems like a bit of a trend. Maybe stats will show otherwise.

Diaz has been the only one to show up so far....

Salah very quite, just not seeing the ball at all, need more of it.

Don't these early Saturday kickoffs prove troublesome for LFC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

    Wel lthat was absolutely pants

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,194 ✭✭✭McFly85

Pretty poor all round. Tempo entirely dictated by Fulham.

Liverpool playing like a team that expected the opposition to spend 90 minutes camped in their own box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,502 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

That first half performance was just like something out of the later stages of last season, just lacking that final bit of intensity you’d normally expect from Liverpool.

The great thing about Klopp being in charge, is that you know for certain we’ll be a different side in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,198 ✭✭✭Talisman

Diaz needs support. When he gets the ball the rest of the players seem to stand around and wait to see what happens.

Dunno is it me but Alisson has to be saving that!

As poor a first half performance as I've seen in a long long time.

Very few bright spots, maybe Diaz the only one playing to any sort of form. Midfield offering nothing, being bullied and it's setting the tone for the rest of the Fulham side - they deservedly lead and we have a bit of work to do here.

I know we have to accept his shortcomings as a defender if we want his benefits as a creator of goal chances, but Christ sometimes I just want TAA to think like a defender and stop giving the other team chances.

  • Registered Users Posts: 436 ✭✭WealthyB

Midfield were absolutely overran. Trent abysmal for the goal. A very frustrating first half to watch..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,797 ✭✭✭Enzokk

Need to improve all over the pitch really. Midfield hasn't been able to control and this means the front 3 are struggling as a result. Very little option on the bench though as well. I am sure we will make some tweaks to the formation to try and get some control. Pitch seems slow as well, but that is what it is about when playing away from home.

Fulham players though are playing for a free kick on every little touch. Wish this would be called out more, in European competitions the same commentators are not shy to call out players going down looking for free kicks but somehow in the PL it is something they ignore. Referee has been okay I thought, could have given a foul on Henderson but had it gone the other way I would have scoffed at the idea it was a foul. Accidentally fouling someone is still a foul McManaman, but not crying about it as its one of those.

Trent has to absolutely better there ,how can ya say he can't do much? He almost waiting for it to fall to him and then ducks to head It while Mitrovic is attacking it . It's yet another goal from his side.

For all his undoubtedly world class attacking ability , defensively he's a massive weak link that is being exploited by teams loading his side of pitch time and again. It's so frustrating

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,198 ✭✭✭Talisman

The goal was coming for a while and it wasn't entirely TAA's fault. The midfield looked panicked and our passing was non existent.

Whatever the game plan was it needs to be changed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Trent did absolutely nothing there to even put Mitrovic off a bit. Pretty much just got out of his way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 249 ✭✭Tommysocks11

Trent is a coward, afraid of the physical battle, don't think he will ever man up at this stage, get nunez on, firminho doing his usual poncing around and then losing the ball, he isn't a threat any more

Commentators saying Klopp was most relaxed man in the stadium half way through first half, doubt that is the case in the dressing room right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 775 ✭✭✭patsy sally

Haven't seen any of the game but looking at comments on here we have been very poor, need to step it up in the 2nd half now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Front 3 bar Diaz has been invisible. Midfield doing nothing and both full-backs have been crap. Not a winning formula.

Yip, I’m surprised to see the midfield so sluggish, think Nunez needs to come on for Bobby and give them more options. Also like to see Carvalho or Elliot introduced.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,090 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Bad first half. Hopefully the managers bollocking at half time works now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭SM01

This is utter, utter rubbish. Trent doesn't shy away from tackles or getting stuck in at all. Yeah, he wasn't great for the goal, but you're talking through your hat saying he's a coward. Get a grip lad and quit being so reactive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Thiago getting an injury in early this season. Is that 7 injured players now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,199 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Hamstring injury for Thiago. Just can't be relied on

    That’s not good, Thiago injured.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

    Did not see that coming.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,510 ✭✭✭hadepsx

Thiago hamstring injury. First game of the season and already gone for a few weeks minimum. Just buy a good robust midfielder please FFS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Saying it the last two weeks we Have to sign a CM and people saying we don't need another one

Every year without fail Thaigo pulls up and Keita is unavailable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,118 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

You don't even know the extent of the injury ffs.

I'd honestly forgotten Salah was playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

It's a non contact muscle injury talking at least 4 weeks, 3 maybe if it's someone with no history but with, Thaigo history of muscle problems it'll be 4 earliest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,068 ✭✭✭jones

Ok now can everyone admit WE NEED ANOTHER MIDFIELDER. Some of the head in the sand rubbish I've been reading the last while is crazy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Getting beaten to every second ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

Should be 2 or 3 down. We look like the newly promoted side here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭SM01

It's a given that most Liverpool supporters would be delighted with another midfielder. I think you're a decent poster who can make valid and insightful points, HOWEVER, you get a bit of stick because you've mentioned it approximately 192 times in the last week, and it gets grating.

Absolutely brutal. Playing like a team who expected to just rock up and get 3 points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,194 ✭✭✭Jarhead_Tendler

Not battling hard enough here. Getting pushed off balls. Slow to 2nd balls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Worst we've looked in a long time. Reminds me of the Watford away game that we lost 3-0 a couple years ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,798 ✭✭✭✭DrumSteve

    Absolutely **** **** **** wake up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,510 ✭✭✭hadepsx
