This is a compny that cuts it's talent for profit they don't care about fans at live events they make there money from TV.

Fans are paying these prices so they will continue to up the price till fans don't pay it this live event money is pocket change to the WWE.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,012 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

I’d be fairly confident they will put on an NXT/NXTUK show on the Friday in the motorpoint.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Unless there held back for the general sale

Going to look a bit scruffy with entire sections blocked off

Never know might have a big **** off dragon or something in that corner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Ya, I'd assume they're held back, or just being released later when WWE work out the demand/staging.

I'm reckon we've a large screen just above the tunnel looking at it now as anything row 22 back in l8,9 or 10 isn't available and m9 is blocked out.

M8 and m10 look a bit dodge if you get those seats. Where I am in L10 looks ok (albeit I'll have to turn around to see the titantron). Seats a few rows further down in L10 are even more expensive again.

Not a dig at anyone who bought tickets I really hope you enjoy it and have a blast.

However it looks like a lot of people decided not to pay those crazy prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,012 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

The ticket price thing really hits home when you see people on Twitter talking about how it’s just not feasible to bring a couple of kids at that price.

WWE sees $$$ signs but to be fair it would be nice (especially in this PC era) to see as many kids as possible experience the event.

I saw reports that comparing it to the boxing in Wembley a few weeks back most of the floor seating for Whyte/Fury was £100.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

I was shocked a bit at the prices and really didn't expect them to be that high

I'll admit I panicked buyed and happy my ticket is sorted. We're not getting any refunds if they do lower the prices for the general sale

For what we're paying they really should be stacking the card. Will the likes of Brock, Stone cold etc want to bother heading over to chilly Wales ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Tbf when buying the tickets, I knew I was being ripped off badly, so it's fair to have a dig.

They went a bit too far with these prices. Take 20-30% off and it's have been expensive but worth it. What they had was ridiculous.

Like I'd have been willing to spend more than what I did for better seats and the meet and greet but I couldn't justify 3k for that package.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,023 ✭✭✭seandotcomm

at those prices they'd really want to deliver, otherwise there'll be a lot of annoyed fans afterwards who'll regret shelling out and wouldnt go again should they try it again next year...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,871 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

I'd say your lucky to get Roman who is reducing his schedule but for those prices an appearance from SCSA or Undertaker as a host would be cool even HHH, HBK or Shane too

I'd imagine we'll get Roman vs Drew surely. After that, i'd assume Becky vs Ronda/Bianca, a Cody match, a Rollins match, and maybe a 6 man match that has Balor and Sheamus involved in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,894 ✭✭✭hynesie08

I don't care about people choosing to go this show, spend your money on what you like, but " I've been a good member of the universe and spent a week's wage on a ticket, I hope I get a nice reward" is an embarrassing look, and the fact that when they don't deliver you'll do nothing and fall for it again is exactly why this company will never change.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,012 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Yeah no matter what the price imagine all the marks like myself expecting something above the norm for a first European stadium show in 30 years.

    Your scoffing….?

”I’ve been a good member of the universe”. Cringe.

Haven’t watched the WWE product habitually for a number of years. Stopped licking VKMs boots about a decade ago. Have casually followed and have had a nose at some of the major PPVs. The last one being WM38 which IMHO was brilliant. Shame of me for being fooled by the WWE.

I’ll go enjoy the show, the spectacle and the top notch UK atmosphere. I’m sure it won’t be Wrestlemania 17 but I’ve no doubt it will be fun. I’ll park the fact us keyboard warriors can all book a better product than whats being produced at present from the fed and take the show for what it is.

Hypothetically speaking we’ll probably get main event Drew possibly against Roman. What would be your two cents on that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,894 ✭✭✭hynesie08

What in the last 2 years has given you the impression WWE gives a flying fcuk about the fans, the pandemic was the best thing to happen to them because fan reaction stopped playing a factor, Nick khan has openly said they are not a consumer led company anymore.

Wrestlemania 38 was great, and genuinely got me excited, that lasted precisely one day till Raw.

Go, enjoy the show, have a few pints and a laugh with your mates, if it was in the Aviva I'd probably be the same, but don't be one of those moaners who complains about everything from the card to the titantron to who shows up and then hands over a mortgage payment.

Drew Reigns would be a solid in ring main event, enhanced by the crowd but ruined by the fact reigns has already smashed through him less than a year ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

I do think the atmosphere if Drew wins will be ridiculous. The pop would be monstrous.

I'm hoping Becky regains a title there too. Could see Becky vs Ronda at summerslam maybe and then a rematch here where she wins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

With Summerslam been earlier this year its looking promising the event will be build up for the whole of August

After sleeping on it yeah the tickets are expensive but it's paid for now. I'll go over now and hopefully have a good time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,972 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

I would be looking at the Supershow they did in Austrailia to give you an idea of what to expect not the Saudi shows.

Even then I doubt you will get any legends having a match like they did there with HHH & Taker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

The presale is/was basically public at this stage. Numerous different 'codes' around at the minute

Tickets for the upper North stand showing up now priced at £150

The pricing is a little odd as thought the North stand would maybe have a better view been behind the hard cam. My ticket for M32 in the West stand cost £250 (minus service charge) and ill be behind the commentators tables in terms of ring view

Have a wedding the same day of a close mate so had to give this a miss. Not sure I'd have been able to stomach the prices for myself and the little fella anyways based on the online chatter. Hope anyone that got tickets enjoys themselves though, I'd say it will be a great weekend!

Could the September PPV slot become a permanent European/UK event

Reckon Cardiff only got picked because of the roof on the stadium. The place were racing 92 play in Paris is another indoor stadium and would definitely attract people for a wwe event

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,012 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

If anyone is looking for the cheaper tickets. Avoid ticketmaster and go directly to the Principality Stadium website.

Large chunks of tickets still for sale. Masses of the €200-€300 range still going. They'll surely have trouble moving these. If you aren't buying them day one no amount of megastars announced or FOMO is going to make you pick one up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

They could end up reducing the prices closer to the event which is a little unfair on everyone who bought tickets in pre sale (which was hyped too ****)

The prices definitely turned a lot away. As i siad before the ticket is bought and payed for, nothing I can do about it now only plan and look forward to the weekend. I got a refund fairly handy for a cheaper ticket I bought earlier in the day on Wednesday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,894 ✭✭✭hynesie08

There'll be a 2 for 1 offer on tickets by July.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

God, I'd actually be a bit pissed if they reduced the prices after paying for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Yep a few airport pints to soften the blow will be needed if that happens. God help the people getting the ferries over.

Flight Dublim- Cardiff on the Friday 2nd from ryanair is now €295.40 for a standard fare

    Glad I got in early

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Easy to fly to London and get a train. Going to do that on the Friday that weekend and go back on the Monday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,893 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Ya I’m thinking of going to this and flight prices caught me by surprise so may look at other avenues

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Flights to Bristol Airport on the Friday are cheap enough

Going direct to Cardiff Friday lunch time and back on Sunday. That venue leak helped a lot with both Flights and hotels.

Now that it’s Drew The Swordsman Swordy vs Roman Got to look strong at all times so I can extend my title Reigns as the main event, could we see Sheamus, Butch and the other lad interfere and help Drew win the title as a show of respect for their battles recently. And end the show with all U.K. wrestlers and Sheamus in the ring celebrating with Swordy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Based on last night, I'm now quite excited for this. Hopefully card is as good.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,303 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

As far as I'm aware there are limited tickets still left? Probably be very expensive though. Have a wedding the very same day of a close friend so I'm missing out myself unfortunately.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Yeah can't wait for the event and last night has boosted my expectations a bit. Got a ticket to a Whatculture live podcast which is taking place at 1pm the day of the event in a near by pub. There's a Wrestlefest UK event on too (Tyson Fury is appearing at that)

Hoping there might be a pop up shop somewhere. Be nice to get merch and not too worry about the long lines inside the stadium

Pity Brock won't be there and possibly my only chance to see him live too. Ah well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,972 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Looks like it will end up a complete sell out despite some of the crazy pricing of tickets and flights and accommodation and that's great news for those going as the atmosphere should be brilliant.

It didn't, obviously they've milked enough money for a house show that 15,000 empty seats don't make a difference.

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 25,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Loughc

Even Agent Coulson can admit it’s going to see out. You can do it. It’s ok to be wrong Big Dave Meltzy is wrong every week and it never bothers him.

    Mod Note

Cop on to yourself with this sort of shite. Both the goading people with “callouts”, and the repeated “big Dave Meltzy” posts you’ve been pushing over the last few days. It’s a blatent attempt at trolling now, and as a mod elsewhere, I’d 100% expect better from you. First and only warning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,871 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

It's a shame no Becky or Brock unless surprise host appearances

Bayley/Seth vs. Montez/Bianca or is Seth vs. Riddle set?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Yeah had a small bit of blind hope that Brock would appear given its a stadium show but not likely now. Maybe $$ and the Welsh agriculture might interest him. Pity Becky out with injury

Only confirmed match so far is Roman vs Drew for the World title, its hard to know at this stage what the other matches will be. Quite possible not all titles will be defended at the event, Ronda (who is storyline suspended) is in the advert so maybe Ronda vs Liv again.

    Would like

    Seth vs Riddle

Edge vs Finn (Maybe some form of Edge/Mysterios vs Judgement Day (they might have a 3rd Male member by then)

No way Gunter will not be on the card given his WWE NXT UK days, maybe a multi man IC title match

can see Tyson Fury been the guy who comes out and announces the attendance number

either way all of us going will enjoy the weekend no matter the match card (well still give out about it though ha)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,363 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

i'd be surprised if there wasn't at least 1 NXT UK title match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,066 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

They really should of done some sort of King Of The Ring tournament given the event is titled 'Clash At The Castle'

(touch wood) by this time next month a lot of wrestling fans will be descending on the welsh capital.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,894 ✭✭✭hynesie08

You could, at a pinch, do a triple threat tag between pretty deadly, brooks and Jensen and Mandrews and boar, but that's only because 2 of them are on NXT proper. And I'd wager more people would know Mandrews from the TNA tours than NXT UK.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

One I was hoping for was Cody but damn injuries.

I think we get Roman vs Drew with a Theory cash in so Drew can pin Theory for one of the belts.

    Riddle vs Seth

Likely some Bianca vs Bayley/Io/Dakota match (maybe Tegan comes back here considering she's Welsh)

I'd assume we'll get a Walter title defense consider his NXT UK days, and hopefully a US title defense too (I could see Lashley/Ciampa vs Logan Paul and could see Walter vs Sheamus)

Edge vs Balor seems like a given considering current storyline, Balor being Irish and HHH being a fan.

Maybe just plugging the event but that would definitely help shift tickets if he's planning to attend
