I'd imagine they're just updating the site, and we're not getting a 4 hour Anne-Marie session on Salty Dog on the Thursday.

I get that, but i would still expect one or two to have inadvertently let it slip. It happens.

Big on the all mouth and trousers scene

Cherym and Harvest, that’s two more for me. Post Punk Podge isn’t bad either. Limerick guy who’s going to be jumping into the crowd.

I’d like the Beach Boys tribute crew again.

I don't see the Apres-Ski Lodge in that line-up for Trailer Park? And what about the Dublin Ukele Collective? They were always a great way to ease yourself into Sunday.

    re Powerbanks

A third here for Anker, got sick of the cheap rubbish most of us had at one stage, Anker not cheap, but way better quality, and the charger plugs, charge way quicker, we have a few anker 20w usb C charger plugs, got the anker usb C cables also, all are excellent.

Online retailers usually won’t ship powerbanks, from anywhere in EU to here, its something to do with safety, so better get them locally, there are no such issues ordering the anker cables and anker charger plugs though.

I still have my old cheap power bank, its crap for charging, but will bring it to EP along with the anker one, thats about their only use, a plan B- with a torch.

Ah, there'll be more. 24 listed there, there were 36 across the 3 days in 2019.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,726 ✭✭✭Stillill42

And the Après Ski lodge was an installation rather than an act, no?

  • Registered Users Posts: 90 ✭✭Major Dad

Yeah, but the link to the Trailer Park line-up posted above mentioned the installations, although to be fair it did say "amongst the installations will be..." Still hoping it re-appears - it was always great fun late on a Saturday night.

Just having a look at the "new look" EP website for the first time.. The new "Mind & Body" area is not mentioned (but we know that's happening) but I don't see Electric Ireland's Throwback stage mentioned either.. Any idea if this has been scrapped too.. Hope not..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,679 ✭✭✭Mucker46

I think electric Ireland have pulled out so will be no throwback stage

Pity.. Have had some craic at that stage over the years..

Gift, de brudder is home from Australia for a while and taking me 2nd ticket, two tickets to this now sorted also.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,019 ✭✭✭endainoz

So we had trailer park today, maybe Jerry Fish or mind and body tomorrow?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 14,952 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

Could we have another sponsor taking over the stage? I agree seen some craic was had there over the years

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,679 ✭✭✭Mucker46

Possibly, I know someone from electric Ireland that was involved so that's how I know they are pulling out, or at least were pre covid

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,397 ✭✭✭Fatfrog

The superduper 2021 map/blueprint didn’t have electric Ireland or even a substitute, the area was empty.

Getting an alternative in there would be difficult, not too many companies would meet this profile. To be honest is it really a surprise electric Ireland have pulled out? They must be paying huge costs 1: EP a small fortune, 2: Paying for the stand/structure 3: Arranging and paying for acts, 4: Staffing and comps. It must be well into the millions for them.

I was fairly sure Bicep would end up in the late night Saturday dance slot but they're playing Amnesia in Ibiza on the Sunday which complicates matters, certainly with the ****-show that is air travel currently.

  • Registered Users Posts: 118 ✭✭darzog

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the air travel problems could well have a negative impact at EP. Some ATN acts were pulled at the last minute due to ‘travel difficulties’.

On the plus side though. I was at Stendhal a lot of weeks back and traditionally (ie pre-Covid) it was a festival where you always got a serious pat-down on the way in to the arena. This time around it was very hands-off. They were only checking handbags, with no physical contact whatsoever. So, who knows, cans at Salty Dog might well be a thing again if we box clever??

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,775 ✭✭✭rubick

    Right.

I'm basing this on absolutely nothing but Beak> are off on a US tour from 15th September. They have just been drafted to fill in for King Gizzard at Palp Festival this weekend so are about in the EU for the next few weeks anyway. Why WOULDN'T Festival Republic book them for EP?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,726 ✭✭✭Stillill42

Cans at the Salty Dog would be a bigger announcement than Radiohead in this thread. Joy unconfined.

"We've taken your comments on board and whilst free-flow in Freetown has a great ring to it, we've decided to stick another bar in selling Heineken and Orchard Thieves at €7 a pop, and that's cutting our own throats."

Similar question for anyone, Any idea which night Fred again will play? Know he is due to play in Bristol on the Saturday night so would imagine Friday or Sunday.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,538 ✭✭✭LowOdour

Im sure we have all been practicing out "smuggling cans" technique during lock down. All I need is a torrential downpour, my ukulele and to remember the first 3 verses to Eminem's Lose Yourself and ill be drinking some sweet cans in Salty Dog

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,247 ✭✭✭Dreamweapon

    I like your thinking.

I'm still holding out for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Playing Manchester on the 3rd and Paris on the 6th, surely they could detour to Stradbally. For fans of King Gizz, early Tame Impala and sunny psych pop. They're also Australian. Must be something in the water.

    Hi all,

Not been to Picnic since 2017 but back again this year and treating ourselves to Pink Moon camping to help the ageing bodies.

What's the story with accessing the general campsites from boutique and bringing a few cans to have with mates who are in general?

Can you avoid a strip and search from the security/by-pass the arena?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,661 ✭✭✭Seathrun66

It's probably been mentioned before but could we be getting a few acts from Connect in Edinburgh the weekend before? There are several acts that are likely (Chemicals, Mogwai, Jon Hopkins, NewDad, Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler, etc) though Idles are in the US so sadly that's not happening.

  • Registered Users Posts: 571 ✭✭✭Blackie_IRL

Ride playing Nowhere would be a lovely addition

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,598 ✭✭✭✭bodhrandude

Mogwai and Hopkins played B&S so generally B&S acts are not rebooked for EP, Bonobo played BTP, hopefully we might get some of the others.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

    idles in america unfortunately.

John Grant is a possibility and would be a fantastic addition.

BCNR are also a possibility, before they head off to the US... same with the National

Chemicals unlikely as theyre in the UK for the sat night.
