48 : iMessage and FaceTime activation error

I ended up switching back to 48 earlier in the week. However, cant seem to activate iMessage and FT.

I've tried everything and been onto 48 and Apple support, it just wont activate ??

There's no issues with the phone, as soon as put a 3 sim card the activation came through within seconds.

Anyone have any fixes or suggestions ? I did the credit thing as well, no luck with that either.

I suspect you need credit as it sends the activation message to a UK number which is not covered under your plan.

I had something similar when i changed over to GoMo. I couldn’t get it to activate. But after a few tries and 30 mins it worked.

Is it stuck on waiting for activation? Turn iMessage and FaceTime off. Restart the phone and turn iMessage on again after a minute. This has worked for me in the past where it gets stuck.

Also check you still have credit. A few times when it’s got stuck waiting for activation it sent a few texts to the UK number in the background and if you’re low on credit it could have used it up by sending multiple messages.

No it’s just a regular +44 number afaik. It definitely should work on 48 as I have it up and running. Had to redo it last week after switching my SIM to a different phone.

If you have credit on your account, call up Apple to make sure there wasn't any issue on their side

Rang Apple, no issues on their end. However, they did say that a number can become unrecognised by Apple's iMessaging Service if it has been ported a number of times through different networks 🙃
