The meme is just a joke from South Park that they created. "Dey tuk arrr jawbbs" is their joke. Meme-ing that joke is just spreading it around more.

The point isn't that they "own" it but that leftists - on this issue - are acting as footsoldiers for libertarian interests, in this case a desire for cheap labour stemming from the free flow of capital and goods.

As it happens, James Conolly was a labour protectionist. IOW he opposed immigration being used to drive down wages. Is he a backwoods hick too, because you saw it on an American cartoon?

A meme is an image video or text that is copied and spread. This particularly one is used to mock racists.

One thing is certain from reading some of the comments is that mental health services need better funding. But then again the person has to realise the need and accept that help.

Who gives a **** that something is trending on Twitter.

Twitter is just full of absolute lunatics (left and right) spouting rubbish and flinging **** at the wall- developed mature adults don’t use it- I don’t have a Twitter account neither do most of my friends.

people need to be reminded of this (especially lazy journalists)

    Or it's logical

Or those advocating your view are the real they racist; discriminatory against the rights of existing residents and don't care how their opportunities are trampelled

Hahaha What the **** is a matured developed adult?

Id rather read the correct pages to read for information and news on twitter than anything the Irish Times or Independent print

Only for the likes of twitter etc ontheditch wouldn't now be the leading investigation journalists in the country

*invites thousands of mental health specialists over from the Republic of Monjovio, plus 20 extra per head*

5 years later, mental health services are worse than ever.

    Cue shock.

Cue " if we didnt have them, we'd be worse off. Sooooo, let's get even more of em..."

Hopefully the immigrants take to the streets and demand housing especially for their children so that they can continue to live here as adults whereas ourselves the natives who are too posh to protest will be driving our kids to the airport to say goodbye. If Irish people don't want housing then that's their choice but I'm sure immigrants who come here for a better life don't wish to live in tents or sleep on couches and anyone who works deserves a roof over their heads. I remember when this country was relatively poor and guess what we actually built houses.

You're correct to a point. Until those fixes are implemented on the bus the bus must operate at a capacity of 30 passengers and not let any more people on. I'm not advocating for an outright ban on immigration here, it needs to be restricted until such time as our critical systems have to capacity to accommodate more immigrants. Too many people here are being too black and white on this issue. It's far more nuanced than that. Continuing immigration at the current rate is akin to pouring fuel on an already burning fire.

If they refused beforehand to restrict immigration, despite every metric pointing to overload, they aren't going to start now.

And when such an obvious problem and obvious solution are outright ignored...that's when you ask "but why?" After so many years, each worse than the last?

That leads to the simple conspiracy of it being purposefully done out of profit, asset inflation. And to hell with consequences.

Conspiracy or not, the problem is the problem.

And before anyone pipes in with "oh but the obligations to eu movement", you should first check where the majority of immigration has come from, it ain't the eu.

And even if it was due to eu movement, a crisis demands critical moves, and like it or lump it, the eu movement should have been curtailed given the serious circumstances.

But again, it wasn't the eu were most are coming from, and that tells you a whole goddamn lot about the who and why of those in charge here.

    Too many people.

We're advertising 2 roles in IT team low to mid-level with 65k salary and it seems no one is interested due to lower pay. HR have come back saying people say they're not ok as soon as they hear the salary. We can't increase pay as that's the max for the band/grade. Expectations have increased due to the increase in the cost of living and I completely agree, but we have to run the show, and it's increasing the load on other team members.

This is the system starting to break.

A quite normal 2 bedroom house, nothing fancy, not a fancy area, I saw for rent at 32 (36?)k a year.

You could get cheaper, but if you wanted a bit or normality as an adult with *gasps* a spare room, 36k of your 65k is out the window immediately. Not including bills, transport, what have you.

The only way to accrue the eye-watering amounts of money to buy a nice, normal place of your own necessitates living like a student bum, and people are cracking. They just won't do it anymore.

Yet more and more people arrive. I can tell you with no need for insight, they aren't coming here to spend 30 odd thousand a year on a rental, they're coming here to live 4 to a bedroom, doing mickey mouse jobs because thats still better than where they're coming from.

What you get then, is a race to the bottom that, importantly, drags all down.

It's going to wreck the entire country, from jobs to hospital care, housing, education, transport ...but for a few years the asset holders made bank, so be thankful for little mercies, God bless them, you know?

FFFG have utterly failed with the health service, public transport and planning for decades.

Now we have people who are stupid enough to blame it on immigrants.

Useful idiots, I believe is the term.

Mehole and The Leak must be cracking up laughing at youse.
