Scummiest thing you've ever done?

Turning the other thread on its head and pointing the finger on yourself, what's the scummiest thing you've ever done? Something you're not proud of now and feel embarrassment or shame about now.

    Me?

    Stole a £50 note from a friends father's wallet when I was about 11.

Shoplifted a few bars of chocolate on occasion from local cornershop when 12-13.

Had sex with a friend of my girlfriends when I was 17, in a bar after closing

Took ecstasy several times in my early 20s, ashamed of my life walking home coming down afterwards.

I'm 36 now, matured a long time, no scummy actions in a decade at least, but regret those things above.

Taking ecstasy isn't scummy. why would you be ashamed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,228 ✭✭✭The Mighty Quinn

I felt scummy after taking it. Well, first few times I didn't. Then I overdid it one night, really really went to town on quantity of pills. I ended up in public coming down hard, and looked every bit like I was strung out. I wished the earth would swallow me. I felt like a scummy dirt bag.

So I guess I'm not saying I think its a scummy activity, I'm saying that night of extraordinary recklessness and excess made me feel scummy about myself.

stuffing my face on a pizza hut buffet and sneaking out without paying (did it on a few occasions in different outlets)

😞i was skint at the time no excuse i know but.....

In fairness eating Pizza Hut whether paid for or not is scummy 😀

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,744 ✭✭✭pgj2015

They should be paying you to eat that $hit. I remember there was something about loads of rats being found in a pizza hut factory once, so they probably got their own back on you in a way. ;)

From reading the title, your thread seems to imply the meanest thing one has ever done... as in meanest thing to someone else. Taking ecstasy isn't being mean to someone else as such.

But if you're talking sham, then for me it would have been visiting a prostitute. I remember hiding under my umbrella before entering her apartment! I kissed her a lot! She had switched me for the girl I intended to visit. I should've copped it before I got there when a different no. rang me back after my initial call... can't believe I was so stupid. Her excuse was that she'd just changed in appearance. I said to myself "well she just about makes the cut in terms of being bangable, so I might as well".

Another time I felt shame was when I had mis-read my work roster and thought I was off. I then got a call from work while in the middle of masturbating, asking me why I wasn't there. They kept a close eyes on my timing after that. I always felt like they somehow knew every time I was masturbating.

Another time was when I was in the sauna, and these two women (who appeared to be of similar age) were very touchy. I thought it was inappropriate and made a remark implying they were lesbians. It turned out they were actually mother an daughter. She was quite a young mother, but I couldn't make out the age difference due to the steam. They appeared to be of similar age due to similar body shapes. It didn't end well.

    Finally an interesting thread :)

I think messing with drugs is a bit but I can't judge too much with the occasional binge drink session with mates back in the day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,860 ✭✭✭Pissy Missy

I wasn't a fan of an old friends bf back during school days, a mutual friend said she was messaging him and she said "I wonder if he fancies me", I played devil's advocate and said "why don't you message him and ask". We all found out later they were hooking up. I felt horrible and the old friend stopped talking to me for ages.

Oh just remembered, was on holidays, me and a friend were in the club, got talking to 2 lads, went back to their place, I was going to sleep with the guy but he didn't have a condom and he said I was a fridget cause I wouldn't sleep with him without it, then him and his buddies went off to the beach to get a blow job apparently. I went into the room my other friend was in with the other guy, she went to the bathroom and he tried it on with me. I told my friend and we both left. I was fairly drunk and we walked back to our hotel. It must have been 7am and an elderly couple were having their breakfast outside, I stopped and asked them if they had a condom. My friend pushed me to keep walking on 🙈😂 the poor couple

Went to a cruising site in lanzqrote and took 2 strangers one after another

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Brid Hegarty

It was the bf who did the scummy thing there (or maybe the mutual friend), not you!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Brid Hegarty

Says the guy who's not willing to share his own experiences!

Sounds like you made a good call. I guess pulling her aside and warning her about said guy wasn't an option? Perhaps it would get back to that guy and then he'd have it in for you.

@The Mighty Quinn Turning the other thread on its head and pointing the finger on yourself, what's the scummiest thing you've ever done?

That's the exact reason this thread will get so little replies. People like to give out about others, and will be very very slow (even when all anonymous) to admit to their own wrong doings. Sadly most people aren't introspective enough for this topic.

I tried ...but like what to say? ....looking back im not sure i made the right call ...I asked had he ever ....done anything to her she said no ....so i did warn her i guess

About the bf ....she had come to a similar conclusion i think but there was a lot of toing and froing ..sometimes the choice is doing a bad thing or doing a bad thing ...either way i would have felt uncomfortable.

Don’t tell me you really think that your online activities are anonymous?

People will not be stupid enough to declare any illegal activities that could get them into trouble if reported.

So let’s keep it light hearted and spare us your strange observations on human nature.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Brid Hegarty

That's all well and good if 100% of scummy things done are illegal? But that's not the case now is it????? And if if they were illegal, then the statue of limitation argument would apply most of the time. Smoking weed is illegal. Visiting a prostitute (as I've said) is illegal. But nobody cares. "Dodgson, Dodgson... we've got Dodgson here". So my I'm afraid my ingenious observation on human behaviour still stands.

The topic is “scummiest”, not anything scummy.

    God, you really are naive.

Got my wallet taken by a guy one night in town years ago. I was in the chipper and paid for my food and put the wallet in my back pocket. I felt something brush off me and about 5 seconds later I felt my arse pocket and my wallet was gone. Followed the guy outside and pinned him against the wall and threatened him. I got my wallet back and went back inside to get my food. As I was walking out a few minutes later eating my food, the guy came behind me and abused me and pushed me and knocked my food out of my hands. I reacted and flattened him with a punch. Knocked him out cold and broke his teeth. He was taken away in an ambulance and I was taken away in a squad car.

I got released the following day but of course the rumour mill was in full swing by that stage. My family had all heard about me assaulting someone for no reason etc. etc. the guards were sound about it as the guy was well known to them. They checked the CCTV from the chipper and called me a few days later to say there wouldn’t be anything further about it. I was getting so much heat off family and friends who heard about what I had done that I had to go to the chipper owner and ask him to see the CCTV of what happened. I videod the footage on my phone, set up a WhatsApp group with about 50 people in it. Shared the footage and removed myself. Some people still gave me grief over it and I can see it from their side. I could have killed the chap if he had hit his head or something and I still do feel a bit scummy over it.

You did a nice thing there, nothing scummy at all...

    Clampers can get to f*ck

Well played in the name clearing with the WhatsApp group.

    Good thinking.

Wasn't a scummy thing. You were robbed first of all and then assaulted. Good on ya

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Brid Hegarty

So the only scummy things you do are the illegal ones? You've absolutely nothing to share otherwise? In your entire life?! I'm not naive enough to believe that!

When I was young and working in a sandwich bar in London, the boss offered two of us extra to clean out a warehouse of Xmas turkeys.

It was July, and the electricity had been switched off at the end of January.

Again…the thread is called “scummiest thing you have ever done”. What exactly is so difficult to understand here? Stop creating debates when they aren’t needed..

Some young wan asked me for a condom while I was having breakfast with the wife and I never gave her one.

Yeah, you don/t sort out problems like that to be fair, it was only a few quid and a takeaway. Just call the Guards don't knock some guys teeth out.

When the guy came in behind him and pushed him

If more people stood up to the scrotes that do as they please instead of wasting their time ringing the Garda we would all be better off.

It's a pity someone didn't give your man a few boots aswel. He might think twice about hassling people in future

if you're that well hung, you probably should be able to just about manage it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,744 ✭✭✭pgj2015

There is a time and place for punching people but that situation wasn't one of them. People who lash out like that have anger issues in my opinion. You can punch someone if they are about to attack you or are attacking you but not if they knock your take away on the ground, its only greasy unhealthy chips.

Pity the scumbag didn't get the slaps a few years earlier, it'd have saved others getting hassle. Sure it's only his wallet too, let it go man!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,744 ✭✭✭pgj2015

How do you know that if he got "the slaps" a few years earlier that he would suddenly turn into a law abiding citizen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭Maz2016

Why do people have to keep questioning things. It’s a light hearted thread, no need to focus on certain posts. If you don’t like them move on. What started off as a good thread can easily get very annoying to read

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,211 ✭✭✭✭ILoveYourVibes

You will be shagging around to your actual gf soon! KEEP GOING!😊

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Brid Hegarty

Okay then, the 'scummiest' thing that an average individual has done isn't likely to be illegal. For example; giving someone the wrong directions, someone leaving their bride/groom at the alter, cheating on one's partner, making an insult that might crush someone's spirit for life. These aren't illegal. We're not all murderers and drug dealers you know! And if we were, then why can't people just share the other scummy things they've done? I mean come on, people do loads of scummy things throughout the length of an entire life. So as I said, people are too proud to share, as well as not being introspective enough.

You still haven't shared anything scummy you've done? Use your head. This might help... imagine you are in confession and the priest asks "what are your sins?". For the love of God, surely there must be something. I promise not to mock you about it if that's the issue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Brid Hegarty

What that chipper owner did, in giving you the footage, was actual illegal. You're lucky he gave it to you so?

I have acne. Its pretty scummy! 😥

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,784 ✭✭✭Motivator

Excuse me, but anger issues? You don’t know me so you can’t assume I have anger issues. The guy robbed me, threw abuse at me and then started on me again when I didn’t react to the abuse. I restrained myself when I went outside and got my wallet back. If I had anger issues it wouldn’t be an isolated offence and I certainly wouldn’t still be feeling guilty over it nearly 10 years later. I regret the fact that the situation could have had a pretty bad ending if he had fallen a different way and hit his head differently. I lost sleep over it in the weeks after the incident because on another night I could have killed the chap. I do remember the guards not having much sympathy for him and while it was probably an attempt to stop me from being too hard on myself over it, it didn’t really work.

A mate text me earlier after seeing my initial post. Apparently the guy gained an edgy new nickname after the incident and is known as Bullet Tooth Tony ever since. He’s still alive anyway and I would hope he hasn’t robbed anyone since that night.

I was leaving a friends house for a night out. Was after a fair few cans. There was a homeless person roaring abuse at us as we walked by. After night out I came back hammered. Saw this man’s sleeping bag but he wasn’t there. Decided to piss on it. Have been feeling ashamed ever since. First time I’ve ever admitted to it.
