Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I can’t seem to find this posted anywhere on this thread and it’s a free deal to get €30 off your Electric Ireland account a year with SuperValu rewards, info below.

Ive successfully taken €5 off my next bill and I’ll have another in a couple of months. All you do is go into your SuperValu rewards app, generate the free code and paste it into the website above. Tip - to enter the code click where the image below is circled on the website (took me ages to find this as it’s not clear)

I was able to generate 2 codes on my real rewards app in the last 24 hours for €10 off. Doesn’t seem to be any spend required in SuperValu as I go in there very little and I can’t remember the last time I even shopped there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭adelcrowsmel

How do you generate the codes...I already had my Electric Ireland account and real rewards linked for their previous offer where you had to cash in points for a voucher code and this ended a few months ago. By with this new deal I can't see anywhere in the app where to get the codes - it says they would just show up in your vouchers?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭One Who Waits...

This is painful. Krypton Factor painful. Just going round in circles between 2 apps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 475 ✭✭Spn744

I generated the code in my real rewards app see below - it’s beside the €5 off €35 voucher for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭adelcrowsmel

Thanks Sp744, no Electric Ireland voucher appearing in the voucher section for me at the moment, just the normal Money Off voucher. I know the offer was only starting in August and I haven't shopped/scanned my card in there this week yet, so maybe after I do my weekly shop tomorrow something might appear!

Keep me updated with how you get on as it doesn’t seem as easy as I thought it would be for others with accessibility and access to the codes.

Email I just got now says:

If you’re a gas and electricity customer, you can get two €5 vouchers every two months, for a total saving of €60!

I am a dual customer and applied 2x discount codes but for some reason I was able to generate a third but won't bother adding it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 691 ✭✭✭Happy_Harry

Just checked the app- maybe click on "Deals" bottom right corner. It mentions the discount there. You just need to link the ElectricIreland account with your RR account it says. I am not an Electric Ireland customer at present , but this served me as a good reminder to switch to them as I am due a switch 3 days already.

    This is a nightmare.

Have signed up to Electric Ireland.

Have signed up to SuperValu and both are linked.

Received the voucher yesterday from SV and received the code, however there is no way to input the 9 figure code into the EI app.

Every link provided by either company just has me going round in circles.

    Help!

I got the email also and am signed up for both, have accounts linked with months have used the supervalu card a few times this month already. but haven’t received the €5 off in the supervalu app. Tried to link SV card and EI account again but it says it’s already done. Anyone any ideas or have the same issue.

From SV app "Important Update:We are aware of an IT issue which is currently impacting the Electric Ireland free €5 vouchers. We are working hard to fix this issue. Your free €5 Electric Ireland voucher will be added to your Real Rewards account as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭adelcrowsmel

Thanks beet_root for that info, good to know as my vouchers still haven't appeared...so hopefully they will in time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,145 ✭✭✭✭ejmaztec

Last week, using the 9 digit code on two €2.50 paper money back vouchers, Electric Ireland treated them as €5 each. I haven't actually got any vouchers that say €5 on them. The app only shows a few €2.50 money back vouchers, and no €5 ones.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,631 ✭✭✭Gooser14

Has this been fixed? I still can't see the free voucher.

Seems to be have been terribly implemented by SuperValu. I don’t understand who thought it was a good idea to remove the real reward points but then to replace it with these “perks” that are inaccessible to some is madness. I used my first 2 but will update this thread if I get more in the future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭amber2

If your 1yr contract with EI is due to expire in the next month or two we probably won’t see them at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭corkie

Just posting to bookmark this thread.

Still waiting on been offered the voucher.

The convert points to voucher was a better method, because you had more control over it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 54 ✭✭SorenLorensen

I was on to SV yesterday about the vouchers, I didn't get the error message on the SV app like I was before but I've no vouchers either. They told me to get on to EI who told me there is a problem and it has been escalated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 645 ✭✭✭Moving2017

I was onto SV about it also… they said they would escalate it and get back to me. My contact is up in a few weeks so I don’t expect to see it before then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,025 ✭✭✭adelcrowsmel

I contacted Supervalu via Chat yesterday to query why I hadn't received the voucher, they checked my card had been scanned lately etc and said it was a technical issue and logged a ticket for me. The €5 voucher was in my app this morning so very quickly resolved! Advise anyone having an issue to do the same.

Tried live chat just now to raise a query and the chat terminated... 🙄

I don't seem to have received either the EI vouchers or the money back ones. Will try emailing and see what happens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭amber2

Fired them off an email now too, they have had ample time to resolve the issue at this stage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 54 ✭✭SorenLorensen

Just tried SV chat, they say EI have a problem but my case is being escalated

Was onto SV chat yesterday and the voucher is available in app today.

Make sure to tap on 'All Vouchers' to see if it is there.

It didn't show up on the home page.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭amber2

God dam it, anyone now having an issue opening where you enter the supervalu voucher code on the EI rewards site. When I click more info it does nothing. Going around in circles at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭corkie

Click on the 3 Lines (hamburger) menu and select redeem voucher. @amber2

    or try this link? : - https://electricirelandrewards.ie/Voucher/RedeemVoucher

Got a response from SuperValu yesterday.

Technical issues, they could see that I should have received the EI voucher to generate the code, and also the final money back one and that neither had issued.

Got the EI voucher this morning on the app, and generated the code, amd entered it on EI website. I should be receiving two, afaik, as I'm a dual fuel customer. But, it's progress!

No money back vouchers on app yet.

Have you found that an email or live chat is the way to go? I haven’t got much joy with live chat today they just said they’re working on it.

Live chat terminated on me, without any replies.

I usually find them good for replying to emails.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭corkie

@Moving2017 Live chat worked for me, if your lucky to get onto someone, who takes down details such as your rewards account and your EI account details and gets them to 'logged the query to the relevant team'.

Also got an email response 50 minutes ago, but checked the app this morning.

Another option would be to ring them?

Is your Real Rewards card fully registered?

To ensure that you can access this offer, please make sure that your Real Rewards card is fully registered with the Real Rewards programme. You can do this in-store, online at www.supervalu.ie/rewards or call 0818 22 00 88.

Could I try use your 3rd if you still have it :)

I just set this up now. I have both gas and electric but just one electric Ireland account/rewards account. Will I get two automatically next round or do I need register twice or anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,772 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

Sorry it's no longer showing for me so they must have copped onto it.

I have dual fuel with EI and it shows an account for electricity and gas. Similarly I have the one login for rewards and I was able to apply 2* credits. I just registered once.

For some reason both went into he has account but suspect that is setup by default or something.

  • Registered Users Posts: 684 ✭✭✭questionmark

No worries,Thanks for the info :)

Fingers crossed it works next month

    Thanks for the BA.

    Think I have registered successfully.

Am I right in saying, I do not get the super value voucher immediately, I have to shop more and then in x weeks i get it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 68 ✭✭Nightshad3

Hi guys, pretty much in the same situation. I was using the Electric Ireland vouchers before the changeover. Was told by email the problem was being escalated and I would have the vouchers on my app last night, Lo and behold ............... nada ffs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 645 ✭✭✭Moving2017

I contacted them weeks ago by chat and have still heard nothing! Seems to be a case of it gets fixed for some and not for others unfortunately

  • Registered Users Posts: 68 ✭✭Nightshad3

I was on to them initially via chat, I was told to wait.................. you might have a better chance if you send them an email.

  • Registered Users Posts: 68 ✭✭Nightshad3

Some hopeful news guys, I got the code today. The generate code thing was in the app. Just keep emailing, it took two escalations.

    Roll on the next one..........................

I had been using this for months/years now, but last voucher I got was in May.

I read the OPs post and checked out my realrewards app and like a lot of ye, nada, no voucher. So I set about (via the app on my phone) navigating through their Deals -> Electric Ireland voucher -> Find out more -> link accounts -> (Electric Ireland rewards site now) -> "Always on rewards" -> Save up to €5 on EI bills -> Add real reward card (i've mind already linked this long time -> Redirected to login and bumped back to the Electric Ireland rewards site now. From here I just followed that path again and was disappointingly just brought to the "redeam voucher page", but sadly no voucher. I went "back, back, back" out of the site and to the home section on the realrewards app and low and behold €5 off electric Ireland voucher appeared! No idea what I did to make it show up or whether it'll help others, but perhaps...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭corkie

    I redeemed a voucher on 25/08/2022.

The app/website has the next available already.

Valid from 9th September to 10th November 2022.

Can't redeem that until 2 months are up. So hopefully will remember on 25/10.

I won't generate the code till then and hopefully it will still be available.

  • Moderators, Regional South Moderators Posts: 5,856 Mod ✭✭✭✭Quackster

It's one voucher per two-monthly billing period. You've redeemed a voucher in the August/September billing period so you should be able to redeem another voucher at the beginning of October.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭amber2

Just refreshing this thread as anyone who availed of the last €5 voucher in august or two €5 vouchers if a dual customer should, all going well be able to redeem the next voucher code over the coming days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,671 ✭✭✭corkie

    @amber2

Check your last redeemed transaction date: - https://electricirelandrewards.ie/Transactions

Unlike what @Quackster mentioned, when redeeming the €10 voucher before the rewards site would only allow you to do so once the two month period had expired.

Hopefully someone can correct me, if I am wrong.
