Wireless problem

I followed steps from this link https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/255/ but, when I enter my network key it says this " The network password needs to be 40 bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters " How can I fix this ?

I use it for old video games that run on Windows XP Why keep it off the network ?

So the OS can get infected ? I thought I would be protected since I have Norton anti-virus. I need to connect to the internet because I want to play MP games that are Windows XP/Vista only. That's why Im using such an old system. I recently bought two games, CoD 4 MW and True Crime Streets of LA which only run on Windows XP/Vista

Why do you recommend not connecting to a network ? I thought my Norton anti-virus would protect my system

What is a XP VM ? My anti-virus is Norton Anti-Virus 360. The system originally had Norton Anti-Virus 2003 but I updated it to 360

I googled XP VM and at the top of the page it says "Windows XP Mode is a feature of the Windows 7 operating system that allows it to run applications that are only compatible with Windows XP. XP-mode applications are made available on the host Windows 7 desktop using a tool called seamless windows." Would running Windows XP mode in Windows 7 be better than using the XP system ? Where can I download Windows XP mode for Windows 7 ?
