And my point is similar to your earlier one: there is no need to know who owns what - just make sure that everything must be declared and there is a Zero Tolerance regulation in place that is enforced if they forget/deliberately forget/or hide assets. 

If you don't understand that people who have a vested interests in how markets work and can bend them to their benefit and control it , wow what a post , corruption is why it should not be that way . I think the Robert Troy affair is a witch hunt and I don't believe that TDs are conspiring to f*ck over the entire Irish population to make a quick buck on inflated house prices.

Troy had a number of omissions. None impacted his ability to do his job. Yet he was forced to resign due to public pressure.

You say that TDs make more money due to the housing crisis, but many TDs will lose their jobs due to the same housing crisis come the next election. Sorry, I just don't buy that this crisis is wholly or even partially manufactured so that 1/3 of property holding TDs will make a profit, should they sell.

It's more plausible that our government is unable to plan for the huge influx of migration, rising land and materials prices, shortage of labor, COVID, and a war in Ukraine.

True, their portfolios have increased in price, but so have the portfolios of the majority of property owners in Ireland.

2/3 of TDs are not landlords according to your link, so they would have to be convinced to support legislation that harmed them.

I get that FF/FG messed up housing, I blame them too, but I don't think it was malicious or conspiratorial. The housing crisis is nearly 2 decades old, from boom to bust to boom to bust. There are many factors that led to this, not just legislation that the government introduced.
