Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ye i loved Gini but he was far better at defensive part of the game, We haven't had anyone with his ability to close passing lanes since he left, He also had an engine with pace alongside strength that really helped us.

He's doing great for his age & he has a very high ceiling but right now if everyone fit he'd be my 5th choice midfielder ,

Of course I'm hoping he kicks on & he has the ability to do so ,

I dunno about that, their owner is an idiot, Can you imagine John Henry sticking his nose into everything at Liverpool, the way Todd Boehly does at Chelsea, he's embarrassing.

''"Pierre-Emerick is an elite striker with a proven track record in the Premier League and his arrival strengthens our squad, giving us new attacking options. We are thrilled to have Pierre-Emerick on board with us in the new era ,and we’re really looking forward to working with him."

    Well you'd know Todd

    On Carney Chukwuemeka

"Carney is one of the most exciting young players in Europe so we are really looking forward to seeing him in action at Stamford Bridge. We are delighted to be able to bring him to Chelsea and add such a talented young individual to our squad for the new season and beyond."

Dude you know fck all about football, or these players, shut up and stop embarrassing yourself.

I'd so cringe if John Henry was spuing this crap about players we signed

It wasn't a through ball it was to the side of the left full back down the channel & the ball curving towards the corner flag,

There was the left back 7 two CB inside Salah when he received the ball,

A decent pass but not a through ball,

Boehly has no class, Pierre moved there to work with Thomas, full stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Everton will be straight in for Thomas I bet, Lampard will be sacked tomorrow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,582 ✭✭✭mormank

Ok we have different definitions of a through ball then. I suppose yours is just when it leads to a one v one on the keeper yeah?

That ball played Salah in behind the defence but he chose to cut back.

Ajax 3 up against Rangers after 35 minutes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,067 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

Ally McCoist looks like he is going to explode. They are very poor 2nd goal was fortunate but Ajax could be 4 or 5 up. It is going to be a long 6 games for Rangers and Celtic

How long is Henderson out did not see

Edit. Never mind see its at least September. Questions need to be asked why did they not start this year with the midfield transformation then next year. World Cup year?

Elliot is a fantastic player for his age. He does the simple things really well and doesn't overly complicate things. His positioning is very good too and is able to keep his side of the midfield ticking over. He still has a lot to learn but doing great things for his age.

You could tell Klopp is a big fan when started Elliot in the Chelsea game last year - which was the 3rd game of the season - Thiago and Keita were on the bench.

A great attribute I noticed is that Elliot can have a good game when all around him are playing badly. Something Keita cannot do.

    This isn't a fun start.

Joe Gomez equals a bad high line

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

    Milner is a joke

    He is dooooone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Fair to say this has been a shite start.

TAA and Gomez caught out of place again. How many more times is this going to happen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Awful.

    Overrun totally in midfield. Totally.

Sure lads we all knew the story when we saw the line up.

Milner has reached the Neville cliff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

I’m so utterly fed up of James Milner. He’s only ruining his hard-earned legacy the more he plays now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Milner wouldn't start for Westham or Leicester it's 2022 for God shake stop playing him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

No pressure on the ball from an overrun midfield + a high line = defence has no hope.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

Fab was unbelievably lazy just jogging back there, completely ignoring the man on the edge of the box too...

    Holy sh!t Milner!

    Milner.

Milner on a yellow already, going to be a long night for a player that’s late to everything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Starting to feel a bit sorry for Milner now. Should not be starting games in 2022. Let alone away in the CL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,511 ✭✭✭tinpib

Oh God. No way Milner lasts 90 minutes.

The body language from nearly all the players is very worrying. Second to every ball and strolling around the place. I hope I'm wrong but this is looking more like long term rot than a blip in form.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,524 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Ah for me it's all on the manager selecting him. No lack of effort or commitment from Milner. His attitude is amazing. He is just at the end of a brilliant career.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭SM01

I hope this is the last we see of Milner starting. He just can't keep pace at this level. No dynamism, and there he gets a yellow for being as late as a Dublin bus.

He's a legend, but he's not able at this level anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭doc_17

I have zero sympathy for Milner. He’s an idiot. Jumping into that tackle was stupid. What if he has to stop a counter attack?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Play one of the kids ahead of Milner

He is absolutely done at this level of football, it's not fair embarrassing him every second week

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,067 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

Its not like milner picks himself and will give as good as he can when picks Kloop should be trying to blood the youngsters then asking him to play from the start of games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Ottoman_1000

An hour ago you had him picked to start ahead of one of the kids in Elliot!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Starting to feel that Thiago coming back into this team won’t be the magic bullet many of us hoped for. The rot has firmly set in and there are so many players not giving 100%. It’s worrying.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,112 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    This is a penalty.

Might have stood on his toe. Ball was gone anyway. Be a ridiculous pen to give. But the way this season is going.
