Semi wild cat who lives next door, but gets fed here, brought her kitten to my garden this morning. She's such an attentive mother.

Met the mother and aunts tonight and she is delighted having spent the evening with all her siblings for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, all in their early 80’s to early ‘90’s … she has one sister here, one in London, one in Florida but all together in Dublin again tonight for food in a nice restaurant and seemingly full of plans for the next week, socialising, more meals out, trips to powerscourt etc and trips to the US for them all in January to basically do nothing but enjoy the sun and laze around….all looking great, happy, healthy enjoying life.

The deep deep silence of the midnight hours out here in mid-Atlantic. Something very very precious and healing.. the freedom to be able to make a hot drink at this hour.. although no biccies or cake to be had....maybe a bacon buttie.. freedom and peace

I was bemoaning the lack of customer services from businesses but had a requirement tonight to email a retailer with a query at 17.00.

at 17.01 I have a detailed reply…they are out of stock of the product I’m after and they won’t be restocking in the near future. However, they recommended another business, a competitor where it may be purchased…’nope don’t have it’ would have sufficed but going the 10% extra and providing a link to where it’s available is really appreciated… won’t be forgotten as I’m after it a while.

That's lovely. We all need to realise how much precious things are here. Kids, education, friends, fun, independence, overcoming worries and anxieties, plans, hopes, dreams, ...

Seeing all the little kids starting school really is a wonderful sight.

Grabbing this happiness while I can, esb bill arrived yesterday, lower than the period before.

Such a relief as I assumed the price rises had kicked in.

Opening that envelope is an ordeal! I got a shock this time as I saw well over E200! Then the small letters cr.. Not going to question it... So we settle for the night, snugged in and ready for anything.

I was in a shop today that had a 50% off sale. Normally it is stuff I don't want but they had a nice jacket that would be ideal for autumn. I wasn't 100% sure I wanted it so I went to look at the shoes while I had a think. Went back and tried it on and I really liked it so decided to buy. While I was putting my own coat back on the sales assistant came along and started repricing the items on the rail. She put a new price sticker on that was €33 less than I was going to pay. My indecision really paid off.

An oul dip in the sea. Had a bit of a heavy (but great) night last night, the four of us threw our togs on this morning and ran into a very choppy sea and it was absolutely gorgeous. Best hangover cure ever.

Happiness is bed shaped.. Sleep after being starved of it for too long is sheer bliss... Being snug abed while a wind howls and rain smashes against the window ... oh and littlest cat, a neglected stray scaredy- cat, who now lives here, has settled on my feet abed and is serenely washing. Now THAT is happiness... A lot of happiness out here tonight.

Cats fed,,, feet washed,,, when I put my foot into my siipper OH WARM! Then UGH WET... WHY do cats DO that? memo to self ...always turn shoes upside-down,,

All sorted and the day is mine now.. Happy at the day .. bright and breezy...

2 days in a row I’ve got the Wordle in the NYT in 2 goes. Feeling pretty proud of myself 😄, or am I being smug ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,098 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

2 goes is pretty impressive all right. I got it in 4 today. The average was 4.3 guesses according to Wordlebot.

My TH is a soft day at work. Long may it last.
