Are you based in a Russian embassy or Russia itself?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Cheerful S

It's a shock and awe on power and electricity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,407 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

But they're not targeting infrastructure or civilians right?

Again cheerful. What do you think you're accomplishing here? You're not convincing people that your idol is some sort of misunderstood hero.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,487 ✭✭✭Fighting Tao

Yeah, they fail at attacking armies and attack civilians and civilian infrastructure instead. Big brave boys throwing a tantrum because they were routed out of Kharkiv. Latest count is 102 abandoned armoured vehicles. Still counting though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Cheerful S

I've given countless reasons why I don't support Ukraine. Decide to shoot at people who just want self-defence and rule themselves inside Ukraine then your moral high ground gone. Ukraine signed up to the minsk agreement and broke them shelling into the regions endlessly. West never admit that Azov was shelling these regions and breaking the treaties.

    Your lieing ,

Your nothing more an the lowest common denominator troll,

But cheerful you believe the Holocaust is fake and that 9/11 was done by secret nazis using Sci fi technology.

You clearly don't live on the same planet as the rest of us. Why would you think anyone believes your version of events?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,487 ✭✭✭Fighting Tao

So you agree that the Russian puppet Yanukovych should not have ordered the Berkut to shoot innocent protestors as it removes the moral high ground of supporting Russia.

He's already admitted he is in Moscow and posting from there, he is a Russian propaganda poster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,230 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

In your conspiracies the "West" is always to blame, which is identical to the stance taken by the regime in Moscow. They are always the "victim" of Western conspiracies, never their own deliberate actions.

You've been caught using Russian propaganda sites, your extreme views have driven you to e.g. Holocaust denial, posters suspect you yourself are at least half-Russian, you've defend Putin in every situation over the years on this site.

Personally I don't think you're a Putin bot, but ultimately there isn't much difference.

No rout, barely any fighting, Ukraine have showed liberated towns on twitter that have been empty for days. The Ukrainians sent a lot of troops in one direction.

Been hiding out on the fringes for a while now outside the conflict zone.. Now they're in the firing line trying to control a new area. A smart Russian general would smash up all the new concentrations of force. We wait and see if Russia has some surprises for Ukraine?

“We wait and see if Russia has some surprises for Ukraine?”

Like facing a half competent Russian army?

Don’t think we’ll be holding our breaths!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,706 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

Congratulations, you're now praising Russia for committing war crimes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,706 ✭✭✭✭Timberrrrrrrr

Seeing as you avoided his question I will answer it.

CS has already admitted to posting from Moscow, make of that what you will.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,487 ✭✭✭Fighting Tao

I think your bosses share the incompetence of the Russian military when they appointed you to post shite on behalf of Russia. Do they know they you’re demoted to a conspiracy theory loon and banned from the main threads? Therefore, have zero influence on anyone and even the usual useful idiots won’t touch off your nonsense? Don’t stand to close to any windows as news of your own incompetence is discovered.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Elmer Blooker

Sorry to interrupt but since the destruction of Iraq and Libya by the good guys denying civilians running water, sanitation and electricity etc is no longer a war crime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,230 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

I protested the Iraq war, the above is simplistic nonsense.

There is no comparison between these conflicts. Putin's aim is to conquer Ukraine, to subjugate the country, to eradicate their identity, obliterating their culture, forcing Ukrainian children to learn Russian

Bush and co were literally trying to do the opposite, to liberate a country from a brutal dictatorship, naive in the extreme, but they were ultimately trying to help the Iraqi's, not conquer the place. They botched it in every way possible, but the conflicts couldn't be more different.

I was firmly against the Iraq war and I am also against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Foaming-at-the-mouth types can't comprehend this, they see everything in terms of sides, they can't understand you can criticise both the Iraq war by Bush, and the Ukrainian invasion by Putin. They personify entire countries in order to fulfil an emotional need to "hate" that country. They feel compelled to support opposing countries, simply because they oppose the country they "hate". They assume the worst geopolitical intentions of that country regardless of which administration is in power. They cherry-pick the worst parts of that country's history and exaggerate it to fill the most absurdly black/white narratives. Systematically, over and over. Completely detached from reality.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Elmer Blooker

not interested in what you protested about, the issue is what is and what isn’t “International Law” and why do some countries commit “war crimes” and others (the good guys) “collateral damage”.

On Iraq, blowing up water pumping stations, sewage plants, power stations etc is NOT removing a brutal dictatorship but are attacks on civilians and war crimes under “International Law”.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,230 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

The US didn't systematically target water pumping stations, sewage plants and power stations across Iraq. They hit dual-use infrastructure to weaken the regime, they generally hit power distribution rather than power generation, they used carbon fibre bombs to reduce civilian casualties, they hit plants at night to avoid worker casualties, they targeted parts they knew they could rebuild the quickest. Doesn't matter what lengths they went to, there were still civilian casualties, there were still indirect effects (e.g. Basra losing water for two weeks), there were still knock-on effects. Doesn't matter, the war was illegal, it didn't have UN support, it didn't have international consensus, traditional allies didn't support it, there were the largest anti-war protests in history.

    And what?

Does that make the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which is a different beast altogether, any less terrible? No. But that's what you are trying to do. Whataboutism and concern-trolling.

They are fanatics, their hatred of "the West" would make even the Taliban worried.

Actually even the Taliban admitted 9/11 was real.

They also tend to label themselves as libertarian, lovers of freedom etc. but deep down they seem to be driven by some revenge fantasies towards political opponents who they see as enemies (QAnon really ramped this up past 11).

There's been a losing streak for Ukraine for months. Has Ukraine ever won a decisive battle in the Donbas or Lugansk since this war began? You guys are silent after every defeat. You guys are clueless, Russia overextended itself by trying to take another oblast with not enough troops. Personally, I think Russia did the right thing by trying to capture Donbas first, then worry about Kharviv later. Banned from main threads because it's a Ukrainian war support club!! You get marked for troll if you voice opposition. Let's pretend there's free speech, but it's not. I don't care about influencing anyone. In a few weeks, I'm betting Ukraine's offensives will be over

Russia has entered Bakhmut city in Donbas. If this falls, Ukraine's in deep ****. This cuts off Ukraine's supply lines in the south and east and opens the road to capture Kramatorsk. On the other hand, Ukraine is attacking Lyman Nonstop in a rushed hurry, knowing this counteroffensive has a limited window. In the south, Russia regrouped a big force and reinforced lines with extra troops from Kharkiv. Ukrainian troops took heavy losses trying to break through and getting pushed back in Lyman by more professional Russian troops.

Bin Laden living it up inside a Pakistan ISI/CIA fortress for good knows how long isn't suspicious. His usefulness outlived him and took him out .

Spoken out against the war? Bush got rid of Saddam because he was bad man?

Why punish Iraq when most of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis? Wouldn't you go after Saudi Arabia if the terrorism came from their country? If Bush's intentions are good, why didn't he do this? He covered up the role other governments played in 9/11.

Saddam would kill every damn Al Qaeda terrorist in existence. You're just repeating CNN and TV news talking points. They all emerged in Iraq under US military control. ( Remember Islamic State)) attacking Assad an enemy of United States and Israel. Your simplistic world nothing to see here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Elmer Blooker

‘bad man’ Saddam was allowed to remain in power after the 1991 first Gulf War as he was an enemy of Iran and had his uses.

He eventually crossed a line and his days were numbered.

So therefore it's fine that Putin invaded and did some war crimes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,230 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

The Bush admin went into Iraq for a variety of reasons.

People like Rove, Cheney, etc subscribed to the idea that removing Saddam in Iraq via regime change would create a domino effect across the Middle East. It would benefit Israel by removing a key threat. Basically Saddam not being in power, and replaced with a friendly regime would have a whole raft of geopolitical benefits for the US and region allies in general. It was also an "experiment" to pre-emptively remove a very nasty dictator. Of course it ended in disaster, but somehow it looked good on paper to the Neocons.

Why punish Iraq when most of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis?

9/11 was used to whip up the public to go into Iraq, there was even BS that Saddam was involved somehow in 9/11 (he wasn't). The US was on friendly terms with Saudi, a handful of disaffected extremists from that country is not reason to take action against the entire country.

Saddam would kill every damn Al Qaeda terrorist in existence. You're just repeating CNN and TV news talking points.

Don't gaslight me thanks. Indeed Saddam had little interest in AQ.

They all emerged in Iraq under US military control.

? After the US invaded Iraq it became a hotbed of extremism, Baáthist loyalists remained, fundamentalists poured in from all over the region. In one insane situation US forces found themselves actually working with Sunni insurgents. The US administration literally created a massive terrorist problem, plus it created the precursors for the growth of ISIS.

Neither side is "winning", but you are cheering for Putin in an invasion that is butchering and murdering Ukrainians, stealing their land, stealing their crops. Your posts are stuffed with claims that the Ukrainian army was just about to collapse, that was months ago. Just more of your vile views, like the Holocaust denial stuff. On the only forum on this site you can get away with

I'm cheering for Russia's security. Nato's bringing choco and sweets to Russia?. Its hostile military alliance grew out of the cold war.. American foreign policy over 45 years tells us everything they do has an agenda. The United States isn't transforming Ukraine's military because they love Ukraine, they're doing it to keep Russia in check. Chinese and Russian peoples have different agendas. The United States and its allies armed Jihadists to take out Russia's ally in Syria. There's global competition here, and the US wants to stay on top. You're playing a double game by arming Jihadists. US mouthpieces say they're killing Islamists, but in secret, they're arming them to take over.

Putin was a butcher, he leveled every city in Ukraine with artillery and precision weapons. Despite all the propaganda, Ukraine tries to paint Putin as a murderer, his hasnt really done a shock and awe on the population yet. It'll put a Ukraine missile launcher next to a building Russia hits, then say Russia is always attacking civilians If civilian deaths were very high, Ukraine would show this footage every day for months . Intelligence agencies in the US and western countries have commented on how surprised they are that Russia didn't go after commercial and civilian infrastructure. Power grids were attacked this week but hadn't been touched for months.

Mariupol would fall to the Russians, I told you. On the other thread, the Ukrainian war supporters claimed Lysychansk and Severodonetsk wouldn't fall to Russia. Wrong again told you on here Russia will win for months. You're just on about the Russian army having no morale, losing so much equipment, and yadda yadda and why can't win battles. I always told youi that Russia didn't have enough manpower to take over Ukraine. I told you they had the tactics to win in the east. If you grind Ukraine down there, all the best units disappear, and be just conscripts will be left to defend it not good.

NATO is training thousands of Ukrainian men in their tactics behind the scenes. Bases inside Germany, Poland and UK.. These conscripts are now getting combat training. It's time for Russia to rethink their mindset, Ukrainian conscript reserves are better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,407 ✭✭✭✭King Mob

Lol previously you were claiming that Putin wasn't leveling cities and wasn't targeting civilians and that was all "western propaganda".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,230 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

Endless regurgitation of Putin's koolaid. Precisely like Hitler did, Putin claims that defensive alliances are really "enemies" about to attack the motherland, that bureaucrats in NATO just sit and plot all day about invading the 17 million square kilometres of Russia, that countries like Finland and Sweden aren't nervous of a hyper-aggressive Russia, instead they are "encircling" Russia.

It requires Neanderthal levels of gullibility to fall for state propaganda of that level, but here we are.

For Putin "the West" is always to blame for everything, for you, "the West" are always the baddies in your conspiracy fiction. You obsess over "Nazis" the same way Kremlin's propaganda machine does. Whether another person is poisoned with Russian nerve agent, or elections are being meddled with, or Russia tanks are literally blowing people apart you are here to trip over yourself defending Putin, rabidly blaming "the West" for everything, always painting the Russian billionaire autocrat as a victim, precisely like he does himself.

Posters here have repeatedly described you as a Putin-bot. I've witnessed Putin-bots back in 2014, they weren't half as fanatical as yourself

Looks like Putin confirmed that only part of the Russian army is inside Ukraine. It's probably because the best soldiers aren't in combat yet. It's not necessary to mobilize in full or in part. I've always thought it was weird how only 190 thousand Russians went into Ukraine with an army of 1 million. There's more potential for him to upscale here, he confirmed it now. Man so relaxed at the SCO summit. All these fake stories about his health and leadership in the western media looked shady. I've never seen Putin so relaxed.

If Putin collapsed you’d be saying, ‘oh look it’s great he’s getting some impromptu rest. He’ll be back fully rested to strip off his shirt and lead our soldiers to victory charging on top a bear’.

Ridiculous? Maybe, but you started it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Cheerful S

Doesn't all the news headlines on the other thread seem ridiculous now that Putin answered questions for twenty minutes standing up? This guy had a body double, was ill, was hiding Parkinson's disease by the way he sat at a table.. You notice some posters believe the crap they read because they hate Putin.

Be careful about believing the Russian army is disorganized and about to collapse. Kharkiv lines were guarded by Russian military police, not thousands of soldiers. The Ukrainians probably got info from US intelligence about that. There's no sign the war is turning until Ukraine breaks through the Donbas and Lugansk Russian lines. There hasn't been a Ukrainian victory there since March. I'm just pointing out that Russia has the power to increase the intensity, and I'm not sure if Ukraine has it since conscript reserves were used in Kharkiv. Losses are huge for them, it's unclear what kind of army Ukraine has left after six months, but western equipment replacements are definitely helping them.,

Sure, you do that over US military gear going to Ukraine. Your favorite army got a new war, so you found a new hobby.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Cheerful S

Never hear about this on western sites, but Bakhmut is one of the most important battles in this war for the Donbas. Ukrainian lines could crumple if they lost this area. Holding at the moment, hell on earth there from a Ukraine supporter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭Cheerful S

Russia is making some military pushes at the moment in other areas. Whenever this happens Ukraine starts putting out fake stories to boost morale.

Anyone who thinks they've taken Lysychansk and not heard about a big battle is living in a fantasy world. Some posters love to daydream.

I watched this scripted interview. Putin did not seem himself, very twitchy, speaking quite fast and contradicting himself. A very different Putin if you ask me. He's either unwell, paranoid or under immense stress (or all of the above). That interview was very telling to me.
