It’s been so long since I’ve posted in this forum and I hate that it’s in this thread.

We said goodbye to Cream today. I can’t even believe I’m typing those words. 13 years wasn’t long enough but it was his time today and I was glad we could all be there with him.

Cream was very much a Boardsie cat, I feel like I knew him from the posts through the years. I hope you're all doing ok

To mark the passing of a cat, Sally Anne. She was found as a stray kitten shortly after 9/11. She was always a proud creature but settled well into domestic life. Goes without saying, she will be missed.

I lost my beautiful, beautiful boy last Thursday. I'm absolutely devastated. He was my son, my best friend, my shadow, my buddy. I cant believe he's gone. Such a gentle, friendly, loyal, intelligent, affectionate soul I just cant put into words how much I miss him. I brought him with me everywhere I could. Everyone loved him.

For those long time posters here you may remember I used to post a lot of pics of our Boxer Brodi.

This morning we let Brodi go, she was 2 months short of her 13th birthday, she genuinely was the best dog ever, had a great life and we took her everywhere with us. She was utterly amazing with our 5yr old and 1yr old.

Thinking of her now with her old pal Ozzy

All utterly heartbroken here

R.I.P. Brodi , a beautiful, happy looking dog.......that pic on the sofa is pure class. The most important line is " he had a great life" ( no doubts) ....... that's what it's all about.

Oh no 😢 Always enjoyed the Brodi stories and photos especially for the Christmas photo competitions.... very sad to hear this news. It was always abundantly clear how much you and your family loved her, Scudzilla... I can only imagine how hard her loss is. I'm so sorry 😞

Ah man sorry the hear Scudzilla. I lost my little guy a few weeks ago and know how **** it feels right now. There's nothing anyone can say to take the pain away but it does get easier with time. Take care of yourself.

Thanks. It was a few weeks ago but I have been unable to post it. YOU KNOW! He was dumped in a new rescue aged about 2 . I was there to find a female ... I was sitting on the floor of the chalet with the rescue lady watching this big lad.. stealing water by reaching through the netting to the next pen.. although he had his own pot,, She let him out and he walked all over us.. And on the way home (!) he was trying to change gears. Just a big laid back comedian angel of a cat.. Miss you lad! Miss you.

Posting this I have understood something. I have three cats around. Two are the outdoor island cats and the third just does not eg come abed with me etc, Jacob was a cuddle cat supreme and at his size! WOW He would snuggle and purr..

Maybe one of the new rescues.... Thank you as I had not realised

Hi,I haven’t posted anything here before but I just need somewhere to write how I feel

Had to put our pet dog that we had for 13 years to sleep on Wednesday and the grief is unbearable,I just feel so guilty, we knew she was old but it happened just to quick. I feel like I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to her, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye this is so hard. It’s crazy how attached you get to them and how much you miss them

13 years, of course it's a horrible loss, many of us haven't had relationships with people that long.. I miss my westie every day and it's six years since she left me.. I'm so sorry for your loss..

So sorry for you loss tenreds, please don't feel guilty. you had 13 wonderful years with her. your grief is real, the same as when any family member leaves us. you'll always miss her, but in time you'll be able to smile when you think of her. 2 years since my little man passed, still miss him, be kind to yourself x.

Put down tonight. Probably the hardest thing I've ever done, particularly as he seemed to come back to life and started meowing and trying to claw his way out of the box after being put in.

Been a rough week though and wasn't much quality of life there anymore. He'd just drink water, go to the toilet and eat a bit (appetite went well down and I had to handfeed). Wasn't even purring when being rubbed anymore or grooming himself.

@titan18 I am so, so sorry. You did something very kind for him, had him longer than most cats live so you were doing everything right all along. The pain lessens as the good memories regain some power. Rest in peace Ember
