We should probably wait for details to emerge before passing judgement on Farrell. Perhaps he was completely inebriated? There is a culture of overdrinking in rugby.

Mike Haley, Keith Earls, Malakai Fekitoa, Dan Goggin, Simon Zebo, Ben Healy, Craig Casey; Dave Kilcoyne, Niall Scannell, Stephen Archer, Jean Kleyn, Fineen Wycherley, Jack O’Donoghue, Peter O’Mahony (c), Jack O’Sullivan.

Great to see buckley and edogbo on the bench. Hopefully we see fewer errors this weel with the internationals back

I'd imagine we'll see more details in the coming weeks. You'd have to think its a nail in the coffin of his Ireland career, and potentially his Munster one. Sponsors don't want to be within a mile of this kind of thing.

Like you say let's wait for the outcome of the court proceedings , but being drunk isn't an excuse or a justification , not even close.

Can a mod strip out the discussion on Farrell to avoid the thread being filled with people's opinions on the pending case and make a new thread on the case

The MRSC AGM is once again being held on a match day, Saturday 1st Oct at 14:00hrs in Dolphin Clubhouse.

The match v Zebre kicks off at 17:05.

I don't think we need to strip it out at this stage, because I think all that needs to be said has been said.

Farrell is stepping away from Munster for now, there's an ongoing case in France, there is not much more to discuss at this point as far as I am concerned.

So on that note, everyone should move on too. And to be clear, there is to be absolutely no speculation on this case whatsoever.

Casting my mind back to the Ulster Quarter final game last season, having the internationals back doesn't guarantee anything

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,104 ✭✭✭Red Silurian

He's a very exciting player to be fair. Anybody who was at Garryowen V Con last year saw him go head-to-head V Ben Healy in a cracker of a match. The kid has a bright future

What is the verdict on Goggin in Munster? He is 27 now and hasn't really ever made the next step towards being considered for Irish selection. Is he just a good squad player for domestic league action and that's about his ceiling? I assume if he had more potential we would have seen it by now. And, to that end, is being an OK squad player enough to get your contract extended?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Yes it is enough because you need plenty of those ok squad players to fill out a squad. He is unlikely to ever be considered for irish selection and that isnt a problem.

Not every great provincial player becomes a great Irish player, thinking of players like Jack O Donnoghue and Billy Holland who have about 3 Irish caps between them, but they're great players for us

His fitness is a problem, hes big enough, has plenty of skill and commitment but hes never looked like someone who can do it over 80 minites.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,148 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Dragons have been far more physical than Munster so far. They're winning so many collisions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,867 ✭✭✭budhabob

Archer absolutely woeful. 2 penalties and stripped far too easily.

Very very poor from Munster. Like a second rate saffer team. Deserve to be losing. May rue letting JJ go

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,691 ✭✭✭Shehal

    Can Munster do anything right?

Out of curiosity what are the coaches actually doing as we look pretty useless at just about every facet of the game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 102 ✭✭joedamuss

    This is painful to watch

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,691 ✭✭✭Shehal

Munster seem to be taking the Irish approach from 2019 to heart....by that I mean if a team is physically beating you than just roll over and just give up.

Good score to get before half time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,867 ✭✭✭budhabob

Liam coombes looks to have bulked up a fair bit. Used to be very slim.

  • Registered Users Posts: 102 ✭✭joedamuss

We've woken up finally, Healy and Casey playing well now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,867 ✭✭✭budhabob

Some turnaround in the last 5-10 minutes. Fairly accurate and some strong plays. Good to see.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,148 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That's better from Munster. Dragons really aren't a good side. Don't have much of a maul defence and their line gets disjointed if you manage to keep possession for a few phases.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,774 ✭✭✭✭Eod100

2 tries on the board before half time. If they get act together could win with a tbp. That would have aim before ko so shouldn't change now and should try kick on now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 260 ✭✭Itxa

    Abysmal defence there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,691 ✭✭✭Shehal

Surprised it took this long tbh.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,941 ✭✭✭TRC10

The Fekitoa signing looks like some terrible business.

He's been absolutely shocking in both games and gave the Dragons a try there.
