Turned the sound back up after a call which lasted the length of Boyman's working day.

    First word I heard...COVID.

    Jesus suffering Christ.

More Covid concerns this morning, with a possible 17,000 hospital admissions over the winter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,478 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Despite Sam McConkey being on the radio less than a week ago and more or less agreeing that the pandemic is over and its no longer of much concern.

Did she have Luke ONeill on?

  • Registered Users Posts: 820 ✭✭✭amlinopta

It was Dr Fergal Hickey, President of the Irish Association of Emergency Medicine. And a GP from Rathfarnham by the name of Dr. Knut Moe, whose first name needs to be spelled very carefully. All about "twindemic" concerns for the health service this winter. Covid and Flu. The figures don't look good, much to Claire's delight.

O’Reilly met her match today from another female on the Gathering, didn’t get her name but she put the pressure on O’Reilly big time.

What I can’t understand is why these politicos keep insisting that trouble in places like Cherry Orchard are limited to very small numbers of families!

The vids on social media certainly didn’t support that.

If it’s true, surely the State should be able to root them out and let the decent folk of the area get on with their lives.

I almost never listen to her . Switch over or switch off. She is just so BORING. Tedious. Droning on. Not a spark of wit. Humorless. At least we can get a giggle and a laugh out of the Drivetime crew. But Byrne. She is not able to lighten up.

Lots of long Covid this morning! The beat goes on

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,746 ✭✭✭Pelvis Parsley

    Obsessed and/or lazy.

Lazy and not very bright, hasnt time for research or educating herself. all round poor stuff, some difference to Pat Kenny, different gravy.

The thing about Long Covid is that fundamentally the clinics are learning FROM Covid patients rather than treating them; it’s research stage at the moment. People queuing up to “get appointment” are kidding themselves if they think they themselves are going to be helped, except where a serious abnormality is found, maybe unrelated to Covid. The man being interviewed this morning goes for runs; he just wishes he were fitter than a fiddle. I suppose it’s a lot to do with expectations of our bodies.

Covid, Covid, Covid... This time a book about how the Gaa dealt with it, give it a rest for heavens sake it's like being constantly reminded of a drunken night where we did some stupid things we'd rather forget.. RTE must carry at least some of the blame with its over the top catastrophisising where it morphed into a government pr outlet directly responsible for many of those who've lost their confidence during that time and will never again regain it, I see them every day with their sad eyes and masks covering their mouths but not their noses frightened out of their lives lest someone might interact with them before they can return to the sanctuary of their homes

Do they get unreasonably angry about stuff they hear on the radio?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,853 ✭✭✭✭elperello

While his latest book might be considered a bit niche Damian Lawlor is a good journalist/broadcaster and also has a proven track record as an author.

It would be surprising if his latest book did not attract some media attention.
