New Bus Route for Galway.

It seems we are getting a new Bus Route, "Route 431 Claremorris to Carraroe". It fills a big void in the bus network, admitilly a sparely populated void, but still i hope this does well.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Galway based Minister in the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD, said: “I am delighted to see the launch of the new Route 431 service in Galway, which will be creating a new connection between Costelloe and Claremorris. Critically, the service will also improve connectivity for families and communities to existing regional rail services from Claremorris, and regional bus services at both Maam Cross and Costelloe.”

Surprised she is quoted as say Costelloe rather the Carraroe? Probably just a typo. Maam Cross is going to be a real transport hub now!😄

Well techically, the route serves both Costelloe (aka Casla) and Carraroe...

True and it would be known as Casla locally / South Connemara. Just thought it a bit weird to single out Costelloe rather than Carraroe in the statement. Great to have this extra connectivity for South Connemara & North Connemara in itself. Going to need a proper shelter to be installed at Casla (hopefully one like the one a Udaras na Gaeltachta in Furbo). Can do Clifden -> Carraroe / Carraroe -> Moycullen etc

surprised to see the 419 to Clifden yesterday seemed to be a city doubledecker for at least one trip. Or at least passed a city doubledecker saying that.

I had assumed or previously seen it as a coach service so surprised when it passed me.

Have seen coaches replace buses a few times over the years but not the other way round. Thought the 2 services were pretty separate .

Something must have broke down. There was a blue Galway-Dublin Airport coach wandering around Clifden Tuesday afternoon as well.
