Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where would any recommend as the best Chinese in Dublin , used be a lot of ones on Dame Street one time like Kingsland that were very popular. Wongs in ranelagh was a favourite one time but long since closed .

seems a lot up on Parnell street .

Any of the ones on Parnell street are fine, they'll have an "irish" menu but generally all fine.

Rarely eat chinese anymore but M+L near O'Connell street and Good world on Georges street both highley regarded I think

Apparently the ones in Parnell St are the best though I've never sampled their wares to date.

Incidentally, one of the very first Chinese takeways in Ireland, formerly Jumbo in Stillorgan, is still operating and still pretty good (it may or may not have changed ownership at some point, it is now called Aroma.) So my vote goes to Aroma (formerly Jumbo).

Lee's Charming Noodles on Parnell Street is really good, the spicy lamb Szechuan with hand-pulled noodles is to die for, and it's very cheap.

same as above lee charming noodles, iv been going there for years and the food is excellent, try food that is not the usual chinese take away you should not be disappointed, also M and L is also very good

Lao in Parnell street is the only authentic Chinese restaurant.

the others mainly just sell Irish Chinese food

In city centre: Good World on George’s st or Kashing on Wicklow st. They both do great dim sum and some traditional dishes but also all the old ‘Irish/European style’ sweet&s our stuff also. Good prices and reasonable selection of wine and beer

A lot of them have two menus. One for Chinese people and one for everyone else. I've gone to several with a Chinese friend and the menus are VERY different!

I think Good World is there most overrated Chinese restaurant in the city!

M&L just off oConnel, take a look through the chefs recommendations.

    French Beans with Chili,

    Fried seabass,

Chicken with peanuts and chili, off the bone

    Sweet and sour pork

Just some amazing dishes I keep coming back for. The french beans are a must.

    Are you messing?

They don't take card. Very annoying....what are they hiding?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,289 ✭✭✭Galadriel

Apart from the pork, they are all the dishes I get! the chicken with peanuts and chilli is amazing. I will try the sweet and sour pork next time.

    Best Dim Sum in Ireland(Dublin)?

    thanks

Yeah the pork (Hong Kong style) is more to European taste really but it's nicely crispy on the edges. They do have a more Chinese 'double cooked pork' but I personally didn't dig that one. I must try some new dishes in particular I see Chinese people ordering hot pots I never tried. Any other favourites? :)

I fear for this place, it has been so empty.

I don't go often, but when I do I have to have one of the dishes you mentioned! The only other thing I get is the dan dan noodles, nice and spicy.

Another vote for M & L - its where you are quite likely to see mitchelen star chefs eating a €20 meal on their days off.
