Disability allowance and ce scheme

Today I went to social welfare and told them I would be starting work on Ce scheme on monday. I mentioned that I was on disability, and was told I would have to inform that section.

I mentioned that I was trying to get fuel allowance. The lady said to make sure I get fuel allowance before going off disability.

Basically I am waiting for another member of household to fill in their part of the form.

But the other household member told me that you can keep disability as long as you don't work more that 35 hours per week.

She actually has or had someone working for her who told her he couldn't work more than 35 hours or he would lost his disability allowance. Have you any knowledge on this subject. Do you know if she is correct?.

When you start on a ce scheme your taken off disability until you complete your scheme, your paid through your scheme rather than disability

Correct, the work is rehabilitative in nature, not full-time. https://services.mywelfare.ie/en/topics/health-disability-illness/benefit-of-work-estimator/

He's going on to a ce scheme which takes him /her off disability,

It's not the same as working in a full or part time position

Hi. Not sure what mean by "how long did it take for them to find your Ce Scheme placement?"

It seems to me you are asking How long did it take for social welfare to find a place for me.

If so, No. I more or less found the work myself. Social Welfare had nothing to do with it.

Basically I looked online, and also checked the local social welfare office.

So some months ago, i can't remember how many , i saw some vacancies, that I thought might suit me.

Got an interview, but nothing came of it.

Later I got a call from the place I had the interview telling of a nearby facility, who were looking for people and there might be something there suitable for me.

I went there basically to find out what was available. But It turned out to be an interview in front of 3 ladies.

They told me of 3 vacancies. I picked one expecting them to tell me they would let me know, or words to that effect.

But no, they said I had the job. But I had to do a garda vetting.

Finally on monday last , They let me know that I am starting next monday.

As for how long I have been looking for work, be it part time, schemes, full time, whatever. Well, I suppose since my mother died, as I had been helping to look after her. That was 4 years ago.

But I am 63, and any work I have done previously has been non skilled.

Sorry I thought it was the DSP were the ones who put you into a CE scheme job. I was asking because I have an upcoming phone call with someone regarding the CE scheme on Monday, the problem is though I am going to me moving county come January so I don’t know how it’s going to work.

Well, not in my case. and I can only speak about that.

Sorry I don't know what to say in regards to your moving to a different county. Best of luck.

As for me. I have an interview for a full time job on monday. So wish me luck. ☺
