And the backs got caught in the headlights there.

All credit to the Sharks for a great score but Henshaw will never want to see it again.

Ripped to shreds for a third time. And forwards shunted backwards again.

Leinster getting really opened up here.

Porter doing a Liam Williams impersonation there.

Sharks are comfortably the better team tbf.

    Was that pass not forward?

Think that'll be checked for a knock on.

    Pretty sure it went forward.

Lovely try, Crazy game, entertaining stuff

We are massively fortunate to be just the 6 behind thanks to wayward place kicking from the Sharks.

Its about their only weak area.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Took some nerve from Henshaw to kick that ball without any advantage. He executed that cross field excellently.

Aw man, that was well needed, Sharks were just out of puff from their last few minutes of exertion, exactly the time to hit them.

One for the GAA wall for sure.

I can understand why Sexton was upset.

Sharks 13 was clearly not rolling away from the tackle area and obstructed at least one Leinster player attempting to make a clear out

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Evans also admitted that he got his decision wrong but can't overturn it.

Surely he can though? Referees have done that before.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,144 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Ref letting himself down big style there, you absolutely can reverse a penalty advantage with due cause. His response to Sexton was nonsense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Sharks look very good in their strike plays. They've also done well in shunting our forwards backwards with strong carries.

Leinster looking good when they get some go forward, but Sharks have picked very well, even if a few calls have been made incorrectly.

Can feel Johnnys frustration, Evans is penalising Leinster in double quick time meanwhile giving Sharks loads of time and leeway especially at the breakdown.. it’s inexplicable really.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭TRC10

This should be time for alarm bells. We're getting taken to the cleaners here in every aspect at home, by a Sharks team without their internationals.

Dominating every collision. They're having a field day at the breakdown. And Du Toit is schooling Porter at scrum time. They're also playing a much higher quality of rugby than us. They tore our defence to shreds 3 times.

The Sharks are showing that the world still very much knows how to beat Leinster. And none of last season's issues have been solved.

It's the 5th fixture of the season with some lads only getting their first and second starts.

    Calm down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,952 ✭✭✭TRC10

It's the Sharks 5th game too and look how much better they are.

Imagine what they'll do to us in May, when they have Ox, Mbonambie, Etzebeth, Kolisi, Am and Mapimpi.

You told me to calm down this time last season when I raised the same problems and look how last season ended. Mark my words, this season will end the exact same way.

yeah there is no reason to watch the rest of the game or the season, that's how dire the situation is. Ringrose with another avg performance as well.

Stall the ball! Leinster have Ryan and Ringer on the bench. VDF not dressed and Conan pulled out. Not forgetting Keenan and Lowe. We have an academy player on the wing and Maloney who's got 1 or 2 senior caps! A little perspective.

The pack is nowhere neat full strenght, let's judge when we are fully loaded.

Very attritional game here with Ruddock Lamour and McGrath off injured so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Thirty seconds away from winning a Champions Cup and making a league semi final. The standard of club rugby in Europe and the URC is exceptionally high right now. We aren't entitled to win a trophy every season.

Ah here. That's a few times now it's been abundantly clear the poacher hasn't been on their feet.

I'm getting really annoyed at these penalties but he also penalized Leinster for winning the exact same one in the first half.

Sexton is running the show. Having a storming game with his passing and putting a man into space.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,581 ✭✭✭Dubinusa

Gotta feel for Larmour. He's really had a dose of injury. His last 2 season have been injury prone.

I reckon Leinster will be alarmed at the lack of depth in the back 3. There's Russell, Smith and MOR and Aitzol. That's it. A couple of bad injuries and we are in some trouble.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,106 ✭✭✭✭Interested Observer

Even worse that he was in absolutely incredible form when he got back fit last season.

Much better from Leinster. We've actually looked good in close quarters on a number of occasions this game. But if we get our clear out even fractionally wrong, Sharks are all over it
