I would be more worried about the dogshite on the footpaths to be honest.

Seems like a sensible cost effective solution for temporary signs.

Is your issue that they have not removed them?

In fairness, that's not the council's fault but bad owners of dogs.
Either way I think the council could focus on bigger issues in the town such as littering, decline of Main Street, improve the Harbour area (which should be bustling social area ) and many more.

Correct, I wasnt blaming the council for the dogshite, just more worried about it than a poster on a pole.
