Oldest iphone youd buy today

Hey everyone,

As above, whats the oldest iphone you'd consider buying today, the 13? maybe a higher spec (pro/Pro max) 12 ? Even the 11 ?

What I'm thinking at the moment is to buy the oldest serviceable iphone right now, to get me into the eco system.

Then next year when (Fingers crossed) the iphone with USB C is launched get the iphone I actually want.

I'm currently limping along on an old oneplus 3 handset.

if buying new an iPhone 11 would be the lowest I’d personally go, but there’s nothing wrong with the X/XS or even XR to be honest. If you’re planning to upgrade next year anyway, I’d go with the one that you can get for the best value, considering it’s only to be used temporarily.

11 pro, still decent with the most features for cost. Don't understand why a port is a major selling point of holding off. Sure being able to bring a single charging cable everywhere is great, but more often than not I need several cables as multiple devices charge overnight anyways. USB-C for high speed data is also such a low < 1.0% of use cases that it's really moot.

Totally with you on the port thing. Its completely irrational I know. I've a bunch of good quality USB-C chargers.

Even though I suspect Apple may stick 2 fingers up to the EU and go wireless charging. Carplay already supports wireless connections.

they won’t do that + they’re already using USB-C with MacBooks so it’s not a big deal for them to stop using lightning in iPhone.
