    A bit of common decency goes a long way, but I can understand businesses having a blanket ban on Joe Public using the staff cludges, as JP overall doesn't have the best reputation for toilet cleanliness.

    We used to let people into staff toilets but a staff member had to stand outside cubicle. One guy went in there clearly for a w*nk, others left the place in an appalling mess. Later we denied access.

    At my local petrol station, the toilet for the public is accessed by a key on a keychain with a large wooden stick labelled appropriately.

    Every time I handle that stick I'm aware of how many durty bastids have handled it in the past.

    This! And she proved that if she is the type of person who would humiliate a staff member and force them to phone the store manager on the manager's time off rather than walk across the road to the public toilets AND then make good on the threat to phone Joe (you just know she threatened them with Joe) then she would have no hesitation in closing the place were she to slip in the toilet.
