I know that kind of disingenuous posting style appeals to your base; posting in bad faith, hoping it wins out.

Everyone else - who have legitimate concerns about children's welfare and safeguarding, and who do not seek to score lame points - can see the bigger picture here. And a much bigger picture it is.

What's happened with Mermaids is a disgrace.

Thankfully - eventually, justice is catching up to this organization that calls itself a charity. As far as I'm concerned, that justice cannot come quicker. The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine.

You're posting in bad faith and hoping it wins out?

I'm asking you what talk they gave at this conference?

    "My base"

That's the first time I've been told I have a base. What am I running for?

These are the telltales of someone trenching for an argument; I'm just looking for the details here. You're outraged, that is established; I'm establishing why it's worth getting outraged about; I'm familiar with the MAP/anti-stigmatism issue. Someone simply speaking or conferencing about the topic is worthy of Cancel Culture why.

    "Justice cannot come quicker"

Is speaking at a MAP conference a criminal offense?

If your intent wasn't to imply that the trans community has a high incidence of pedophilia we could have a rational discussion about Mermaids - but since you are been disingenous about your aims here - we can not.

Now that people have seen the 'schoolgirl' photo, can you please clarify if you continue to believe that the publishing of this photo by a staff member constitutes a failure of governance and a safeguarding issue at the charity?

constitutes a failure of governance and a safeguarding issue at the charity?

Somehow I don't think you'll get further than that with them. They're just parroting the allegations.

I'm a bit sad at how on the nose I was with my previous remark about this feeling similar to the Planned Parenthood vs. Project Veritas Hoax: everything Eskimo presents is hearsay from UK politician that they are abusing breast binders etc. or comes from fake undercover journalism.

This same MP said the image we saw above was "pornography" and a school girl outfit (which it simply isn't).

She's calling for an investigation but from all reporting to date, no law enforcement agency has seen or been given probable cause by this woman or anyone else to launch any sort of investigation.

As a reminder: US Republicans took the fetal tissue hoax very seriously too: the federal government and about half of US states burned through millions of dollars to investigate every nook of planned parenthood and found nothing that substantiated the reporting. People seem eager to follow similar cries now. The public is very easily manipulated around election time when you prey fears about our kids.

There aren't any. You do know don't you that the founders of LGBA are lesbian former Stonewall activists from way back...when it was a gay rights movement, not a +++++ movement. What A is saying isn't plausible.

Just listen to this transwoman on BBC radio last week saying they are a Lesbian, 1 hour and 25 minutes into it after the music interlude.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001c7cf

So this was a man who transitioned and is now a transwoman.

She marries a cis woman and now says they are a lesbian.

There is no reality where a person born male can ever be a lesbian.

It is stuff like this that is the reason LGB Alliance exist.

You might think all this is trivial but it's not.

If LGB alliance are out destroy anything it is the bullshit that many people have been brainwashed with.

    Says who?

If you're trying to argue people can't be complex, multi-faceted or layered have you seen that fuckhead who directed Inception and Tenet.

The person would be contrary to your claim, prima facie evidence that someone born with male genitalia can transition to being a woman and have a) the mindset of a woman and subsequently b) sexual attraction to other women.

    'They can't be L, they're T! you can't be T and L, that's too many letters!'

The reality of the "Mermaids Investigation" by the Charities commission is that after the "undercover sting" operation by the Telegraph they were flooded with outraged complaints by people like Eskimohunter and under their rules they have to assess whether those complaints represent just cause for an investigation to be called. Since most of those complaints are from cranks like Eskimohunter spouting the same spoon fed misinformation from the Telegraph (cut and paste complaints) it is highly unlikely they will find just cause for an investigation. The take home message is that no investigation is currently underway and there probably never will be.

The Met Office have said that no crimes have been committed which they are currently investigating and voluntary breast binding is perfectly legal and people should not be concerned that they are breaking the law if they use breast binders.

    Fake outrage strikes again.

Calm down buddy, just some legitimate concerns 🙄

Once again I have yet again to see any demonstration of anything that passes for concern other than being concerned that their bigoted views will go unnoticed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

Exactly, and god knows what the telegraph journos made up in their sting.

Imagine claiming to be homosexual and not understanding that it might not be safe to come out (which is one tactic the telegraph could use - pretend to be an at danger trans teen to get binders without parents knowing).. To be absolutely clear, I am in no way accusing anyone of this -I'm just posing a legitimate question. Could someone pretend to be homosexual? Is that possible. It would explain the lack of understanding for sure. Just asking questions..

If you're trying to argue people can't be complex, multi-faceted or layered have you seen that fuckhead who directed Inception and Tenet.

I wasn't saying any of that I'm just saying they are not a lesbian.

He was born male and he was naturally attracted to the opposite sex to begin with, before they transitioned. His wife is the opposite sex to him. That's called heterosexuality didn't you know.

If you're saying lesbian is a 'mindset' that's it's in your head your saying you don't even know what homosexuality is. Your point is exactly what the gay community are most incensed about and again why LGB Alliance exist.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,962 ✭✭✭Shoog

But the community is not incenced, a small minority are though. Don't try to imply that this a widely held position in the community because it is not.

  • Registered Users Posts: 82,512 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Where do you suppose it is then? The elbow? The testes?

As a matter of neuropathy our kinks and sexuality are up in our brains. I doubt anyone was born attracted to furries costumes or BDSM.

You're telling me this person who exists cannot exist.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

'.. exactly what the gay community..'

What some people in the gay community (and some people claiming to be part of the gay community) LGBA certainly don't speak for all.. but I assume that's just typo..

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,939 ✭✭✭✭AndrewJRenko

I’m a bit sad about how on the nose I was when I asked about the content and context of the “schoolgirl” photo.

Funny how the Eskimo has dropped that issue from his list of complaints.

  • Registered Users Posts: 82,512 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

I suspect he'll drop the whole thing soon now that I've 'done my own research' and found his entire schtick is a straight copy paste of accusations from some politician with favors to curry.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

It's literally always the same. There is no discussion to have, just all mud slinging.

Actually the more people reply to this nonsense, the more of a platform there is to spread hate inspired bs like all the telegraph articles.

People don't want to discuss, they just want to push their own bigoted views (or more accurately the ones they are copy and pasting this week).

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,436 ✭✭✭Quantum Erasure

Who says you can't be both L and T...?

Elliot Page would be an example

Transmasculine people have been part of the lesbian community for as long as there’s been such a thing. Iconic transmasculine lesbian writer Leslie Feinberg is remembered primarily for hir [sic] writing about this. There’s no way of knowing if Page will continue to consider themself a lesbian, but if so, they will be joining the many other transmasculine lesbians who, like Page, use he/they pronouns.

    https://slate.com/human-interest/2020/12/elliot-page-trans-lesbian-divide.html

(Also, whatever dictionary google uses defines gay / lesbian as same sex attracted, rather than gender)

Simple question if You found out someone you know had a large collection of school girls pictures would you still hang out with them ? Or would we pass it off as well nothing to see here ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

Lol that's hilarious. You invent another hypothetical situation and try to equate it to the already tenuous examples.

Do you realise how ridiculous that sounds? 😆

It's a simple question yes or no answer. I know I know it's a terrible moral dilemma. 🤔

  • Registered Users Posts: 82,512 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

What if my friend is a president of the yearbook club?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

I know it's a y/n answer, what is the relevance to the earlier example? You are the one that linked them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

Would you rather be attacked by 12 duck sized horses or one horse size duck?

What if the horse size duck knew a cow sized chicken that once looked at sheep porn?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

Why would they store said material at their home they would be delivered to school premises. You would not think it odd they had them at their home.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭xxxxxxl

Very relevant. I wager that guy from RTE probably had that kind of material at home before he went to the UK.

  • Registered Users Posts: 82,512 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

They're storing it at their home?

That wasn't something mentioned in your "moral dilemma" do you want to take a second to figure out what all your goalposts are?

  • Registered Users Posts: 82,512 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,275 ✭✭✭km991148

Very relevant in a makey upey sorta way..

Cool. Are you interested in child porn in general or just when you are throwing accusations around?

Just asking a question.. it's a legitimate concern.

This will be interesting. Boards of old were very wary of being sued when people threw unfounded allegations around.
