They always are, but it's usually rain that causes that 🙃

Thunder and lightning early this morning here near Tralee, big blustery showers with sunny spells, showers seem to be increasing again this afternoon.

Embedded big convective showers tomorrow and more so on the back edge of the frontal passage looks like the place for thunderstorms tomorrow evening. Huge LLS and DLS, upper air temperatures getting very low again and again very decent lapse rates.

Some of those big convective showers could get very blustery, hail possible as well.

Very active couple of days for thunderstorm .

Today into tomorrow more windy than most have experienced in quite some time even though not particularly strong and getting that intitiall rain and wind from the SE will make it stand out more especially with embedded gusty convective showers.

Could see thunderstorms running up along the Western coasts today and tonight where they might be the most concentrated but should get some overland too, some of the showers could be very blustery and some of hail.

The sat pics I think showing a line of convection forming and getting their tops sheared.

50mm of rain in Cork City in past 7 hours

So later Tues into Weds looks active along the Southern coasts , some storms might stray inland and again during Weds has been showing up as potentially very active day into the night along the S, SW, SE and moving up the country. From my knowledge it looks like a lot of instability from the warm moist plume moving up over the country. Notable are convergence zones along the Southern coasts, plenty of Deep Layer Shear, Temps getting into the mid teens and relatively high DP'S.

Will be interesting to see what reaches us and moves inland, could be quite active tonight, possibly more elevated in nature.

Storm coming close to the Cork coast now, heavy rain from the radar retuns.
