New watch for €500 approx

Following on from some chat in the main chat thread, I'd point you towards Steinhart. They have a massive range of options. That said given it's a PRX that has caught your eye? I'm going to guess it's integrated bracelet, tapissiere dual and the Gerald Genta style look of the watch that's caught your eye?

If it is those features you are after? Maybe a Batavi Architect? They ra a successful Kickstarter last year and have some eye-catching dial and colour combos.

You mentioned it's for special occasions. Suggest think again about the quartz version of the Tissot, because if it's going to spend most of it's time off your wrist, stuck in a bedside locker or desk drawer, then quartz seems more sensible to me. If heart set on auto/mechanical, then either wear it more regularly, or buy a winder to store it in. Plus factor in service intervals/charges. Only you will know what's the right call for you. Handsome watches, either way.

I'd disagree a mechanical makes for a great occasional watch, it's not much hardship to occasionally set the time on a mechanical. I'd often set ones twice a week or more as I rotate regularly. A quartz dress watch you leave in the drawer for months at time your going to find the battery dead some evening when you want to wear it.

Well wear it's a classy looking piece. Probably a safer purchase long term then the PRX. Where's your pics!

21mm lugs so any strap that width will fit, bit less common than 20mm or 22mm but still pretty widely available. Just get a Bergeon spring bar tool they make life a lot easier than a cheap one from a kit.

Just use the forks on it to push the pins back back, watch a a video or two first. The bracelet will come off handy enough but word of warning it's trickier get back on with solid end links!

Better value going third party that Tissot. Hisrch make straps for a lot of watch companies. €25 less that Tissot with a deployment buckle or only 40 with a standard one. Has a quick release on spring bar so easy pop on and off.

Barton Straps are very good for the money. More casual option to dress it down a bit.
