Thanks, will do. On an unrelated note for some people asking previously, I was OOM 109 for Interdepartmental Dublin and interviewed 2 weeks ago. Seem to be moving fairly slowly through the Inter panel.

Hi any movement in mayo or Sligo and if so what Oom are ye thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 3 whataboutbob

Got a mail last night. I was successful in Dublin. OOM : Mid 30s .

Anybody know what the likelihood is of hearing anything soon re a possible posting ? While I am delighted to get this far. It would suit me down to the ground not to hear anything further until the New Year.

They're reasonably flexible with start dates, most people will have to give a month's notice and garda vetting if applicable will take 4 to 6 weeks.

I asked a pal who was hired in the last competition (although we're in cork) and he didn't think pre Christmas start dates were realistic

    Although who knows really

I waited 5 months for my vetting when I joined at CO level 4 years ago. Eventually I rang PAS and it turned out it had been completed within a week but they were never informed. I would suggest ringing them for an update.

Can anybody advise on the emails issued with EOI for interview; what kind of window do you have to accept/reject?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10 Nowyousaidit

For me, I received my EOI late of Monday afternoon and had to let them know by 10 am that Thursday...

Would anyone have any insight to working in Dep of Social Protection?

A friend and ex colleague of mine is in there about 2 years now and is very happy with it. Don't have any specifics for you unfortunately.

I was recently offered a transfer to DSP and anyone I spoke to who had worked there said it was a great place to work. Most depts have blended working and only in office 1 or 2 days once training finished. Obvs customer facing roles/sections would be different but any feedback I got was positive.

Hi All, for anyone who had interview did you prepare a competency for Specialist knowledge, expertise and self development and another for Drive and Commitment? The interview familiarisation booklet has these 2 merged into 1, so showing 5 rather than 6 areas. Thanks for your help 😊

Has anyone idea what number the Open and Interdepartmental comps are up to?

  • Registered Users Posts: 41 Watermelonsugar

I received my results this week and these two were scored together out of 50 while all others were scored individually. I did prepare examples for both though they could have been used for either.

Thanks for this @Watermelonsugar, I really appreciate it!

    Hi all,

For those who have received their results, what is the pass mark required in each competency to pass the interview?

  • Registered Users Posts: 41 Watermelonsugar

Minimum 20/50 but I am not sure how that works with panel are all that passed and placed guaranteed assignment or do the take the first X number off the panel and then move to next batch 🤔

Having been successful with the interview. I've just received a mail to confirm my qualifications and unfortunately. I think I've f**cked myself.

I know, I know, I know I should have checked this before hand but having read the requirements this morning. I realised I don't have the required qualifications. My leaving cert had only 2 passes at higher level . Not the 5 required.

So after the application , aptitude and interview. I think I'm bunched. Can't believe that my 18 year old leaving cert is going to be my downfall.

Has anybody any advice for me on this or like I said. Have i just f**cked myself ?

To clarify , I have zero qualifications other than the leaving cert and years of management and work experience.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I was in the same situation last year and they removed me from the competition despite placing highly on the panel after interview (22). I don't have any Leaving Cert and was trying to get by on comparable qualifications, though. You have nothing to lose by sending what you have and hoping for the best.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3 whataboutbob

Thanks for that. I can't believe I've made this mistake. I know it's my own fault for need reading the full details in the first place but it stings nonetheless.

A real shame that my proven experience in the private sector won't count for much. Was willing to take a massive pay cut too to get out of the industry I'm in.

Any movement on Wexford. I hear they don't plan on doing interviews until the new year but that could be just a rumor.

Any movement in Sligo or mayo and what Oom

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 Kerrywan

Hi, were you in the open competition or interdepartmental, don't think they ask for anything in interdepartmental

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,166 ✭✭✭tritriagain

I have interview for wexford in 2 weeks

  • Registered Users Posts: 389 ✭✭skidmarkoner

A rumor it was so. Goodluck with the interview

  • Registered Users Posts: 430 ✭✭Sparkles:)

For anyone who has completed their interview and passed, have you done the location preferences yet?

I'm in Cork and I'm not sure if I'm cutting off my nose selecting my top 3 locations (but I'd be willing to work in about 15 of them) like does order of merit come second to location preference? Or is it just a twist on the 45km rule

Does that even make sense 🤯

I'm on Sligo OOM11 after the online. No word on anything yet

Hi everyone, bit of an off-topic question, so my apologies.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the work hours are like over the Christmas/New Year period? Just thinking ahead in terms of childcare while I work.

    Thanks 😊
