HKC RF SABB Bell Battery Replacement

Hi,

Hoping someone can help with advice on how to replace the batteries on HKC Quantum 70 external bell.

For the last few weeks I have the following error on my alarm system: "rf low battery " "sb1 sabb 1". I'm pretty sure that means its the outside bell that its referring to. I opened it up and I can see two black battery packs, but I dont see any serial numbers or any other details to indicate what type of batteries it needs.

Is there a standard battery pack for this type of alarm system? I can post a picture of the opened external bell if that helps.

The packs contain 6 Duracell CR123 batteries.

Open these and replace the batteries to clear the fault.

If the LEDs are enabled on the external bell then yes, Id advise installing the second battery pack.

Each pack contains 6 batteries.

Sorry to jump on here, but I've the same issue, and replacing the 6 CR123A batteries in the bell box pack (and one AA on a little device with flat black metal "chip" sitting inside the bell box) hasn't cleared the problem.

When I go into the engineer menu, devices log says that it's SB1 Sabb Battery Low.

I've tried going to the battery menu and doing "Replace Battery", to clear the fault, but this doesn't seem to do anything.

Every time I set/unset, the voice message comes on "Device battery needs replacing, call engineer", and the device status of the SB1 Sabb still shows low battery, despite 6 brand new ones.

Any ideas?

Should I have done something before replacing the batteries?

e: I saw someone mention in another thread to put the system into engineer mode first, so I went into the engineer menu, then disconnected the battery pack for a minute, put it back in, closed up bell box enclosure, came out of engineer menu, but the message still persists.

That replacement option is for the battery in the quantum control panel and would have no effect on the external bell.

If you have replaced the batteries and the fault does not clear straight away then the bell itself is the issue I'm afraid.
