Often (though not always) the weening process is worse than the drug itself (Heroin)

Many of the users i ve knows become even worse from the use of prescription drugs, valium etc that are doled out by HSE.

People on 20 or 30 D10s a day is not an improvement and in no way reduces associated crime as eventually they will want more and it does nothing positive for public order mental health or to improve the lifestyles of those effected and costs a fortune anyway. Just look at the trade in real and fake prescription pills in the city center.

There are the odd success story's who have better motivation to get clean, but deffo the minority

in the last two weeks alone Ive seem crystal meth, heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine cannabis mdma ket and mushies as well as various unidentified "things"

I do not believe that prescription meds are the way out of this problem

If we provide a legal way to get X, then the dealers would make a living now by providing X will need to move on to providing Y. Cos they aren't going away.

What do you think heroin sellers will move on to?

They'll just keep selling heroin.

Someone uses up their government issue heroin they'll then be on to the dealers for a top up.

Heroin addicts aren't known for moderation.
