Toadstool Tour on Gamecube was my introduction to this series, and it was brilliant. I don't think I've missed anything, then or now, by not playing it on N64.

Couple of things, if you have only experienced Wave Race 64 on a PAL machine, you are in for a treat with this release.

It will play at NTSC speed, or the speed our Japanese and American brothers and sisters enjoyed, rather than the slow as molasses thing we got over here.

And, with any luck, this will also be compatible with the rumble feature of the Switch controllers. Originally they re-released it at the time of the N64 Rumble pack, with support enabled, I have it for my NTSC N64 and it is still a fantastic game to play.

Hopefully, 1080° SnowBoarding won't be too far behind it!

Hmm, will be interesting to try Wave Race 64 - it's one of the titles I remember reading about with envy (particularly after playing some arcade jetski game, maybe Wave Runner?), but never played as only 1 person I knew had an N64.

Is 1080 snowboarding worth a look for someone who is most fond of the Shaun White wii snowboarding games (played on a balance board for best effect)?

Re: 1080, it is a more about the race than stunts, and it was well received for the analogue control over your characters weight on the board, which made it more intuitive, plus the effects of the different surfaces, from compact snow to loose powder to ice. A balance board would be awful!

I loved 1080 snowboarding.

Played really well...and that was on a PAL N64.

Time for Nintendo to revive it maybe. Or maybe that was the shield surfing in BOTW. 😊

Also, they could have 1080 snowboarding in 1080p resolution now on the Switch. 😊😊

I really liked the Gamecube sequels to both Wave Race and 1080, but they are unlikely to to be ported to the console.

And Nintendo are showing no signs of investing in a Switch-specific title in either franchise, which is a pity.

I was disappointed to find that Wave Race 64 left me cold, so am somewhat interested to see if Pilotwings 64 fares any differently. The SNES version was one I came to very late in the day and never really got on with - I admire what it was trying to do, but Mode 7 wasn't really up to the task IMO.

wonder will it be next year now before it gets a release. a quick search leads to the consensus being the xbox version will be 2023 so i wouldnt be surprised if the switch is the same unfortunately

id be very surprised if that were the case, i think nintendo and mircrosoft are trying their best to play nice at the moment. on EON's end, id hope they arent causing any rights problems at this stage seeing as their 60th anniversary output has been pretty poor so far and a goldeneye re-release would at least be something.

one theory is that it will be added to NSO in december seeing as it would line up somewhat with what was announced for the rest of the year. hoping thats true but then again i was hoping it would be out back in march too

I set co trolls to 1.2 in game. Then remapped some controls in the switch controller settings, swapped the control sticks and the shoulder buttons. Made it a lot more playable.

And you can save it as a preset to easily switch back and forth.

I ended up using the lowest tech solution imaginable.

Just held the left and right joycons in the right and the left hands, now movement and looking are in the right places, just a little adjustment for the button assignments but at least it's workable.

Hopefully there'll be some sort of better solution later

The Xbox port just adds two extra control methods in the QWatch menu, one of which is a modern CoD/Halo type mapping, plays much better as a result.

Also, it can be streamed, so I'll be able to play it via Xbox Live, an iPad and a decent controller.
