55 Inch LED or Oled TV.

@Adversarial, thanks for your input - this is actually a commercial forum and generally posters ask us for our advice but of course I appreciate your input on this specific issue.

@Tanglewood, apologies for the delay getting back to you - I note what Adversarial says, but you have to take the 'used by Hollywood' with a pinch of salt, several manufacturers use that as a marketing tool and are endorsed by directors or colourists, in reality most studios will use mainly professional grade monitors which will only have a passing technical similarity to domestic TV.

On the two TV that you have mentioned above, the QN85A is now a finished line and it's not actually an OLED TV - its a QLED which essentially is an LED TV, the A80j Sony is of course an OLED.

The Sammy 55QN85B is the latest '85' series from Samsung and at £979 / 1199€ it's a super TV, I would probably still have to recommend the XR55A80J over the QN85B though, once you can live with the limitations f OLED, you will love the quality gain - If however you do like Samsung and QLED, we do have some of the '95 a' series left at silly money, these do give the A80j more than a good run for their money and at £1099 / 1099€ ( Great value in euro!) - I think it's probably the best TV you can purchase for under 1100€ ATM - the 95A has the Samsung one-connect box as well which makes connecting & mount the TV a doddle
