i see wales have gone for a 98 year old back row against argentina.

bookies rightly flipped from wales -1 to wales +1 for this game

I don't recognise half the names in the Australian team. Could Italy beat them for the first time?

    Lydiate/Tipuric/Faletau backrow for Wales

    Didn't realise it was 2013

nope.... that back line 11 - 15 is deadly and very capable of cutting their italian opposition apart. and petaia from the bench is the cherry.

gordon doesnt excite me and lolesi can blow hot or cold, but when hes on form hes a very good running 10

their forwards are pretty much full strength apart from Hooper and Slipper being rested.

    Gleeson is a complete bolter

Capuozzo is an absolute gem of a player. Italy putting on a great show.

    Italy beat australia

oh my god….Ben Donaldson, 1st cap, 1st ever kick at goal, has the conversion to win it at 28-27. How rough is that?!

Fairly ho-hum half of rugby in Twickenham, England in front 24-6 and full value for it. Japanese have been occasionally dangerous in broken play, but everything with them looks frantic and scrambled, and they're getting pushed around easily.

England haven't been great, but doing what they need to do.

Do Japan have a screw loose? Taking 3 points despite being 18 points down…and to make matters worse they then miss it.

They've been awful here. Two quick tries from England, and they should put 50 on this poor Japan side today.

I’m not sure how playing The Last Post and having a remembrance silence for British soldiers is going down with the Argentinians at the Wales game…..

They have certainly dragged the arse out of the prematch ceremony anyways

I meant the actual war part, rather than just the dragging out of pre match. The war is not as distant in Argentinian memories as it is with the Brits

Delighted for Italy - have been a long time critic of what they bring to 6. Nations, but delighted to see them finally deliver - 2 massive wins for them , with decent youth teams coming through , they will be a proper added addition to Championship.

Louis Rees Zammit is a joy to watch. Getting the ball with even more regularity from 15 should serve to make him even more dangerous.

Its not much different to the Croke Park thing though, if they do care they need to get over it as its not particularly reasonable to have a problem with it.

Anyways, should be an interesting game. Argentina have to fancy their chances

Wales are headless again this weekend. Definitely here for Los Puma to take, provided they can slow down the game on the loose and nullity the home back row. That or they get the rub of it when it comes to penalty kicks.

Wales absolutely taking the piss here to run down the yellow card.

Really hoping for a classic tonight between France - South Africa because the other three games that have been on today have all been poor exhibitions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Wales vs Argentina has been dreadful. Such little invention from either side. Argentina have dominated possession for 20 minutes, but utterly failed to make any sort of impression in attack. They kept shipping on the ball to the next guy to take contact. No wrap arounds, no tip on passes, no forwards acting as passing options. Very poor stuff.

Welsh commentary are hilarious talking up that victory. Both teams were pretty poor.

That Wales game was pretty dull

Larner runs one of the better rugby analytics accounts out there.

Wales lack ball carriers in the pack. They were very lateral against Argentina, much like Argentina were against them.

Atmosphere looks incredible in the Stade Velodrome tonight.

Really hoping for a cracker of a game here (I know SA aren't known for being involved in great rugby spectacles, but holding out hope).

Anyone know what they had the French crowd shouting when the lights went out? What an atmosphere
