Recommend TV for person with Macular Degeneration?

Hi, im looking for a Smart TV that would be suitable for someone who has Macular Degeneration.

The minimum screen size needs to be at least 40in but obviously I want to get the largest screen size possible.

Budget is €500-600

It would preferably have the following:

An OLED screen

built in Saorview and Freeview tuners.

Easy to use remote + Voice Assistance

Android TV but other is ok as well.

I looked at posts here in early September and at that time the Tvs below were recommended

Panasonic 58 TX58JX800B €499

Philips 55 55pus7906 €579

Are there options available now which would be better than the above TVs?

If there are and if you have the time can you give your top 3 recommendations in the following screen sizes

40-45in

50-55in

60-65in

Edit:

Forgot to mention that Broadband is not available but 4g is possible using a Router.

The person does not have Sky and mainly likes TV for

News

Live Sport (RTE, TV3 etc)

Movies (Netflix)

At the moment the only ones from that list the would have an Android operating system would be the Philips and the Sony.

All the ones listed have Freeview and Soarview tuners. However if in the ROI you will most likely not get Freeview as this is a UK based service.

Both the Pana 58JX and 55PUS7906 are now totally out of stock with no ETA for more to arrive.

For any of the Smart features (Netflix etc...) you will require some form of internet connection.

Have a check over the above and let me know if any might suit.

Ill compare those now and get back to you over the weekend.

When I said Freeview tuner I meant to say Free to Air tuner.

The current TV can pick up free to air stations from an old Sky dish so as long as that's possible with the TVs above they should be ok.

Atm The Samsung 55 AU7100 and Samsung BU8500 seem the most suitable but Im still undecided.

I've been looking through your site and seen these Hisense models but they are not available in ROI, but I've seen similar models in Argos and Curry's here. Why are these ones unavailable?

Thanks for getting back to me.

We wouldn't want to supply a product into an area where a customer would not be able to receive support on a faulty product but so we can only ship within NI. I don't know what other retailers are doing re the warranty with Hisense to be honest.

Out of the two of those TVs the BU8500 is definitely the better TV as it's closer in design and spec to the AU9000 from last year!

Thats good to know about the Samsung BU8500, their AU9000 is still on Techradars best of lists. I'll see if I can find a link.

Edit:

The AU9000 makes both lists below,

the 55in is number 1 on the under £500 list

and

the 75in is number 5 under £1000.

Btw the 65in Samsung BU8500 is number 3 under £1000.

Hi Stockshares.

It is a decision that we took on Hisense products as there is no warranty support for any Hisense product in the South Of Ireland.

Should anything go wrong it makes things a total nightmare for the likes of repairs etc....

So from a customer service point of view we do not supply Hisense to the ROI. We value our customers too much to put them through a world of pain should anything go wrong.

The Samsung 55BU8500 is the better television as it produces a cleaner image and is the newer product as it is the 2022 model.

I've just looked at the Samsung 65in BU8500 on your site.

Its €849.

Is there any likelihood that prices will drop over the next week?

Also does the picture quality reduce in the same model if you increase the screen size?

What size is considered the sweet spot for pic quality?
