iPhone 12 Pro & Apple Watch problem

When I wear my Apple Watch. My Apple Watch move ring moves and the same goes for my iPhone. But during the winter we are obviously wearing bulky jackets and wearing an Apple Watch can be uncomfortable. Today I didn’t and hd my iPhone in my pocket to count my steps and move ring but it didn’t move at all. I put back on watch for a few minutes again and both rings are moving again.

How can I get my move ring on my iPhone to move without wearing my watch any help with be appreciated.

Looks like you need to track activity through a 3rd party app to close your move ring.

Without wearing my watch I tried this work StepsApp and nope didn’t work the ring won’t move. I can wear my Apple but with winter clothes it’s annoying

Did you check to see if the StepsApp works with the Health app. In most of those apps there is a setting that you need to grant permission to to write data to the health app.

Did that and it didn’t work. Move ring on iPhone will only move when wearing the watch it’s frustrating
